LACI PETERSON UPDATE- 1-14-03
Fox News- On The Record | 1-14-03 | Greta Van Sustern

Posted on 01/15/2003 1:12:22 AM PST by DWar

Van Sustren interviewed 20 year Berkley Bay fisherman Craig Stone. Stone said that nothing about what Scott Peterson did on the fishing trip to Berkley Bay seemed out of the ordinary to him from a fishing viewpoint. The bait was appropriate and available. The sturgeon were available. The boat size was not unusual. The optimal fishing area was not far off shore. The fish are prized but not easily caught. The time of day peterson was fishing was appropriate. It all seemed plausable to him.

She might have been very hurt herself, since her Scott Peterson told her he was divorced.

If you can get it to play, watch the video at the link in one of the previous posts. Scott is a little weird acting, to say the least. He smiles through the entire interview.

Remember the rumors about the police saying something like, if we knew what they knew we would understand why they were checking Scott's fishing spot.

You don't suppose this girlfriend, if there is one, was actually in the dark as to Scott's marital status?

That's what I heard, that the girlfriend thought he was divorced. It fits right in, he had to make some excuse to see the girlfriend on Christmas Eve Day, because he wasn't going to be able to get away on Christmas, so he's going to go fishing, Laci throws a fit and a fight ensues. Who knows what happened from there, but it's a possibility.

Thanks kcvl..I did watch it after reading your earlier post. I didn't get a clear picture at all. I don't know if it was the quality of their video or what. I saw him smile for sure at the end of the interview though. He acted like (via his words) he was caught in a trap w/a noose around his neck IMHO. I can't tell if it's because he was caught having the affair or because he's guilty of murdering her or both.

Yeah, that was so weird. I figured that they were checking the drops of water in the boat to figure out if he had been in the bay or fresh water, but this also explains the delay in the search for the anchor. They just didn't have the men to do the kind of search they needed.

Oh my gosh..I can't imagine the pain she would have gone through if true. I wonder if he told the cops that he told her early on. Here's some more speculation..Maybe he's trying to make it look like she took her own life..

We had a doctor's son kill his wife by taking her out in his boat, in a storm, and putting a heavy chain around her neck and dumping her in the lake. They found her washed up on the shore months later after having been eaten by fish. He was finally convicted after one mistrial. Still his mother refuses to accept the fact that he killed her. The maid had a nervous breakdown because she knew he killed her. It was a horrible and sad event. The cause of death was ruled a heart attack. I don't doubt that. The thought of your husband putting a chain around your neck just before he dumps you would tend to cause it.

It is all too gruesome. My husband has said from the beginning that he thought that Scott had a girlfriend, but I read earlier that the police found blood on the supposedly freshly mopped kitchen floor, so I doubt that she was alive when she left the house.

Now I'm going blind. :-\ . It is still there..I should have read slower.

Geocities does record the ISP #'s on their guestbooks. (or they use to, I don't know if they still do or not). I hope the folks who started that website know how to find them...

I wonder if she found out about the girlfriend and confronted him? The guy is guilty. You can tell just by looking at how he acts during the interview. If he has been crying or losing weight it certainly doesn't show.

I wonder why he isn't living in his house instead of the hotel? I would think you would want to be close to what was familiar and where you were happy once upon a time.

The house has probably been closed off as a crime scene, the police said last week that this was a murder investigation.

I have to question that blood story you read. I Would have to ask the author if they found blood, why in the world didn't they arrest him right away? What in the world would be the hold up?

Do you know if there was an insurance policy on her?
