Van Sustren interviewed 20 year Berkley Bay fisherman Craig Stone. Stone said that nothing about what Scott Peterson did on the fishing trip to Berkley Bay seemed out of the ordinary to him from a fishing viewpoint. The bait was appropriate and available. The sturgeon were available. The boat size was not unusual. The optimal fishing area was not far off shore. The fish are prized but not easily caught. The time of day peterson was fishing was appropriate. It all seemed plausable to him.

Good report...KTVU had zilch zero, nada on the Affair. Most unusal as they have been on the scene in Modesto and the search sites. Tiime for bed before Nurse Ratchett makes her rounds.

SP refused to answer questions concerning his involvment. He says he just wants to keep Laci's picture out there. Family members now doubt that he has been truthful with them on other matters. They don't specify which family, not rocket science to figure what Dennis Rocha is thinking.

Ok - If Scott has a girlfriend not knowing he is married, he needs free time to spend with her around Christmas. His efforts to arrange this free time might have raised flags of suspicion or resentment at his behavior and resulted in an argument. The girlfriend story also fits with his refusal to appear on TV. Another thing - why such a long time before the girlfriend surfaces. Her comments also don't quite ring true - "why are you showing pictures of my boyfriend"?

Can't help being suspicious of Krista and even Laci's sister as she has appeared very stoic on TV. Krista's actions don't ring true - either a publicity hound, or involved someway. You just wouldn't normally put such a hurtful statement in a guestbook because of the hurt to the family.

Peterson: 'Make Me The Biggest Villain'

MODESTO, Calif. -- The husband of a missing Modesto woman broke his silence Thursday, speaking with NBC11's Jodi Hernandez.

Scott Peterson told Hernandez he doesn't care about his own reputation, he just wants to keep Laci in the media spotlight. "I really don't care what people think of me as long as it continues to keep Laci's picture, description, tip line in the media," he said. "They can think anything they want of me, let's help find Laci, that's all there is to it. We have the volunteer center headed down to Los Angeles this weekend, and in San Diego the week after that. We are making every effort to keep her picture out there. Make me the biggest villain in the world if you want to, as long as it keeps her photograph in the press," Peterson said.

Hernandez asked Peterson if he had anything to do with Laci's disappearance, "So, you had nothing to do with this? I mean, people are having questions now," Hernandez said.

Peterson replied, "The focus is on her. Let's keep her picture out there. Let's keep the tip line, the description out there."


A family source told Hernandez they were having second thoughts about Peterson. The unidentified person told her, "The scary thing is being around him for the past weeks and him still looking for Laci."

The volunteer center in Modesto was closed Thursday, but new centers open in Southern California this weekend.

Bags of cement and buckets were found in warehouse rented by Scott. Hubby's explanation: "I was mixing cement, making heavy anchors for my boat".

So what became of the anchor they found in the bay? Did they retrieve it? Was it made out of concrete?

I am beginning to think that this "Krista" may be a red herring. I doubt that she and scott are in on anything (as suggested by another poster). It seems to me that if she and Scott were involved either in an affair or in Laci's disapperance she would have to be incredibly stupid to make herself so visable by leaving the cryptic message on the message board and speaking with members of the press. Also "krista" is a common name. Perhaps there are two Kristas. Aside from this i am sensing, from the information that is coming out in the posts tonight, that the Rochas are going to have some hard days ahead in terms of being disallusioned with SP.

I don't know whether it is a problem on my end but i am unable to watch that video. That aside. SPs comment "I really don't care what people think of me as long as it continues to keep Laci's picture, description, tip line in the media," does not ring true. If he truly cared about keeping interest up in the case he would be PUTING HIMSELF IN FRONT OF CAMERAS and being the picture of a distraught husband.

Side note about the reporterette on NBC11, Jodi Hernandez.

She used to work for a Sacramento station and was Gary Condit's choice of local reporters to talk with after the Connie Chung interview. Wondered why I haven't seen her lately?!?

I was thinking the same thing about the anchor. My guess is that the police knew full well that there was an anchor there and they were hoping that they might find part of the body still attatched, or buried in the sand.
