[history]
Gov. James E. McGreevey will be giving his State of the State speech today. In anticipation of this great event, the state's Republican leadership held a press conference last week to highlight all of the failures of the McGreevey administration.

Coleus, I'm with you re: Schundler. Schundler pulled more votes than Forrester did, in spite of NJGOP opposition to Schundler's campaign. Just sent Bret $$ to pay off his campaign debt from 2001.
I just got a fundraising appeal from the NJGOP--I'm waiting for my blood pressure to go down before I write them a real, shall we say, "instructive" response.

These self-rightous politicians want us to support them in the 2003 elections after what they did to Schundler twice, they forgot one thing--the same people who voted for Schundler in the Primary also voted for them in previous elections!! And they had no right to try to take our choice away and then not support him.

The republicans in Trenton backed McG all the way. Now the entire state is paying for their perfidy! A pox on them all.

I prefer the Constitution or the Conservative party or better yet try to change the republican party from within.

I just got a fundraising appeal from the NJGOP--I'm waiting for my blood pressure to go down before I write them a real, shall we say, "instructive" response. Why not post it? Some of us would love to see how a RINO state party asks for money. The only thing better would be a Mass. GOP or R.I. GOP fundraiser. :)

TN got a taste of that this year.
Gov. Sunquist, republican, was leading the charge for a state income tax. Fortunately the republicans in the state senate blocked it.
What this shows is that you have to look at the character of the individual as well as the platform that he runs on.
Candidates From best to worst:
Favors cutting government with integrity to follow thru.
Favors increasing government with integrity to follow thru
Favors cutting government but has no integrity.
Favors increasing government but has no integrity.

NJGOP? Screw 'em. I just sent my $25 (paltry, but I'm poor) to Mr. Racicot today. I got a nice shiny gold RNC card. The NJGOP has given me nothing but embarrassment.
Seems to me that most of the current NJ GOP politicans are far more concerned with their own personal power, rather than advancing a "conservative" agenda.
I won't vote for anybody who is into politics solely for the money and power. You're supposed to "Serve" in government; not "Be Served".

I still don't understand why, in its death throes, the Republican Party was trying to ship hundreds of millions to the Democratic strongholds of Camden and Newark. I guess Mr. Mulshine has never watched the Sopranos.

Mulshine is reminding the idiot NJ Republicans that when voters are given a choice between a sortof wimp Democrat and a real Democrat, the ypick the real thing every time.
Good column. Time to sweep out those wimp/liberal Republicans and send in some conservatives. Go Schundler!

Constructive solution: Get involved in the local GOP party and attend primary meetings, caucus and the state conventions ... TIME FOR CONSERVATIVES TO TAKE BACK THE NJ GOP FROM THE PROFESSIONAL BOZOS WHO HAVE BEEN RUNNING THAT PARTY INTO THE GROUND!!!

Pubbies in general in the states have a poor record of controlling spending. In fact that is true of Pubbies in general. Of course, there are exceptions. However, that may be why Pubbies remain competitive in many places. The voters want more spending. You might not like it, but that is the way it is.
