How the Hell does a Junior Senator get a position onthe Armed Forces Committee over more Senior Senators. May be that is the answer, she could be under Boxer andthe rest of the Female Senators.

Yes, of course RATS/Daschle make all the committee assignments for the minority.

But, beyond the awful symbolism, what is the big deal? RATS will be in the minority on all committees, and having Carl Levin as chairman or ranking member is a lot worse than PIAPS as its most junior minority member.

She is only doing this to strengthen her foreign policy credentials for a 2008 run for the presidency.
