TO BE HELD ON M.L.K. JR’S BIRTHDAY (1/20/03)
IN FRONT OF RAINBOW/PUSH L.A.Los Angeles- Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, will host the 4th Annual “National Day of Repudiation of Jesse Jackson.”
The event will be held on Dr. Martin Luther King JR’s Birthday,Monday, January 20, 2003,in front of Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH L.A. offices, at1968 West Adams Blvd., in Los Angeles, California,from10 AM till 12 Noon P.S.T.(Note the DIFFERENT location from LAST year.)Speakers for this event will include: Jane Chastain (Radio Talk Show Host); Ted Hayes (Activist); Pastor Wiley Drake (First Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park); Rabbi Nachum Shifren (Educator / Activist); and Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson (Founder and President of BOND).
Rev. Peterson said, “The purpose of this event is to show the contrast between Dr. King’s dream and Jesse Jackson’s nightmare. Jackson has hijacked Dr. King’s dream; as a result black Americans are suffering under his ‘leadership,’ and we’re going to repudiate him until he repents and apologizes to black Americans.”
Jackson has come out against the U.S. war on terrorism and opposes war with Iraq; recently he even accused President George W. Bush of “wanting to rule the world….”
Rev. Peterson added, “Since Jackson is sympathetic to brutal dictators like Saddam Hussein, this year I'm offering him a ‘free one-way to Baghdad’ if he’ll turn in his passport and promise never to come back.”
