Some humanist ideologue sneers at human suffering and exclaims: "Ah, let 'em drug themselves to death for all I care, and it would help get rid of the surplus population!" Supposedly, anyone wanting to intervene in the self-destruction of another will face some sort of sanction from the Libertarian Brown Shirts: "Comrade, you are interfering in the free will choices of that addict by feeding and clothing him and stealing his poison which is killing him.
