Well, speaking of taking threads and running away with them........(this is a legit question)......do you, or anyone else have a "recipe" for removing rust from OLD linens?????? I just inherited a bunch.

I am not very "handy" around the house (although I do have a handy hint for getting candle wax out of votives....LOL).
You'll have to wait for a smart person to come along and tell you.

You can try Clorox, the new Oxy stuff, or what I have found works best : IRON OUT, which gets iron depsoits, rust, and stains out of fabrics, sinks, pddies, dishwashers, and almost anything else that you can think of. A five pound bottle costs $13.99 here abouts. I hope this helps. :-)

In case you don't wan't to look right away, a mixture of lemon juice & salt, and hang the item in the sun to dry. Another is,cover the stain with cream of tartar, roll up tight and soak in hot water. Then wash as normal. I have had great success lately with Calgon water softener liquid and cold water for stains. That is one of Graham Haley's tips for lots of stains. Happy Laundry
