I liked that picture too, that's why it's on my profile page. I just love that George and Laura Bush are sooooooo together!

I can't say as I've read the "Joshua" series. I wonder if that and the movie are related?

All I know is I really enjoyed the movie! Also, a local (from Marietta, GA) popular Christian Rock Band has a cameo appearance in it...They are known as "Third Day" and they are very, very good!

Like I say, When in Rome . . . . :)

Yep....that is one saying I adhere to! Especially when it involves "hugging." I come from an Italian background and we are notorious huggers (and kissers! LOL!)

Well, it's off to bed for me. I have an early day (and a Monday - yuck!) coming up.

Thank you immensely for your thoughts about our troops, the story about the Marine family...they are inspiring and affirming.

Thank you for your comment.
There is no question how my life was shaped, being 7 1/2 years old when we became involved in WWII.
Nearly everyone had relatives or friends actively engaged in the military.

My father (in WWI, and too old for service) was an engineer with the War Production Board, in charge of production for the seven Southeastern states, based in Atlanta and home some weekends.
If a manufacturer of tanks or weaponry or munitions had a production line problem, he was sent to solve it.

I lived blackout drills in Coral, Florida (suburb of Miami, where German subs were seen surfacing in Biscayne Bay), bought war stamps for my war bonds; collected scrap metal and newspapers to turn in; lived rationing of gas, shoes, sugar, coffee, butter meats and other precious goods.

When it came time to go to the college from which my mother had graduated, I balked.
It was then for women only!

One might consider going into the Marine Corps the Ultimate Escape from that - especially since I was truly a very sheltered Southern young lady..:))
LOL

Because of the references from my pastor and high school principal (Bausch-Lomb Science Award, DAR History Award, National Spelling Bee representative for Florida; 97 4-year high school average; class and Student Council Officer, etc.), I went straight from Parris Island Recruit Training to the podium.
Was a Classroom Subjects Instructor for women recuits during the Korean Conflict at Parris Island.

Also spent 12 years as a military wife; taught school at Myrtle Beach AFB for the Department of Defense; had one son in the Army (Air Traffic Control), and his son just finished his enlistment in the Air Force in October, subject to recall if 'things start flying.'

It is said my blood flows in ribbons of red, white and blue..))

If you don't like your instructor, change sooner rather than later. It is important that you and your intructor click well together. Not all the nice people in the world are good teachers, and not all the good teachers are extraordinarily nice! Find a person that speaks your language.

I think this is so true for many things. For me it's true w/my skating coaches. I have to laugh w/your choice of words about speaking the same language. My favorite coach is Russian. Sometimes we have to work to figure out how to say what he wants to say in Engligh. Yet we still speak the same languauge.

Have a great day - and it was nice getting to know more about you last week.

LOL! - Yes, the actual language spoken is not as important as the language the personalities speak is it?

Thank you!
