About one-third of the total adult population — some 77 million Americans aged 20 and over — are unmarried. Forty-seven million of them (26 million men and 21 million women) have never married.

And that's why we see a never-ending stream of smarmy articles bemoaning the inability of talented, attractive and successful men to find adequate wives, and wondering what deep personality flaws prevent modern women from marrying when men find it convenient.

Doncha get tired of these? It's like a never-ending pity party. Twenty years ago it was they couldn't get any of the good jobs. Now they have all the good jobs and they can't find any husbands. It's always "woe is me." Maybe they'd like to have courts hounding them for money to pay for kids they didn't even have, or an assumption built into law that in the event of divorce, they should move out of their home and into a transient hotel on $400 a month... and never see their kids again. Woe is them.
