Hehe. If he got really ambitious, he could look for love in a psychiatrist's waiting room. :-)

Or take a few "Women's Studies" courses at the local College.

I'm in Madison. You have two options: good bars and bad bars.

women need to insist on a new courtship systemThe fact that she wants to refer to it as a system is kind of scary, makes it sound coercive or regulated or something. Feminists busted up something that had developed over and withstood the test of time, now they want to impose something else, they probably don't know what, from the top down.
Hope all this will work out for my son and daughter.

Happy Birthday!
If you are a guy, you have all the time in the world, but if you want to marry someone your own age, be aware that the best of them are going fast. If you get to 30 unmarried, remember, the best partners will still be 23-28, and you will have to readjust your search accordingly.
If you are a girl, you must be amazed at the variety of amazing and exciting choices you now have. Be aware that getting married will be this easy for only 3-5 years, after which it will become very hard.

>>Most of the guys I know, including myself, are sick of the crap that goes on Saturday nights at the bar. One-night-stands are at an all time high, but what I've seen suggests that it's the woman who's looking for the one-nighter, so she can go back to the bar the next night and try out another guy<<
Same as it ever was, dude.
The kind of woman you meet in a bar is, well, the kind of woman you meet in a bar.
You're wasting your time there if you are interested in marriage, and your liver can't really take it either,

"makes it sound coercive or regulated or something."
I think that is what I was trying to express. It does make it seem that someone wants to pass a law that a woman has a right to have a courtship, marriage, and pregnancy when she demands it, in order to satisfy her biological clock. I know, I know, a bit hyperbolic, but the whole tenor of the statement was somewhat disturbing.

Madison, WI?
There are more young females there/square inch than anywhere on the planet.
They are not all-guaranteed-in bars.

True, but I already know the two who are conservatives. :)

Men can make it work to our advantage. I did, but by accident. She was 29. I was 30. She was a local beauty queen and the valedictorian of her college class. I was a captain in the Marine Corps. She was tired of jerks and homosexuals and knew that her clock was ticking. I had bought all of the toys (fast cars, plenty of guns, etc..) so there was no real desire to acquire more and knew that she was a lot better than those that I had gone out with before. One year later we were married. Now 14 years later, I'm still in the Corps, have a great wife (intelligent, caring, beautiful (still 10 lbs within her beauty pageant days), and puts up with me) and two great kids.
Just use their needs to fit our needs. I'm certain it works for both sexes. However, blaming the times or the other side will only make you bitter.

Without meaning to sound too weepy, I am happy for both of you. And thank you for your service to our nation.

Hmm, we're neighbors. I live in Gilbert. Yeah, as casualty of the divorce wars, I do not intend on getting married again in the near future. I will leave that to my children. And, I will have dread and look forward to (and admitting I'm getting old) grandchildren.

It's really so easy and I don't know
why women don't realize what to do. After all, there
was a hint of it in the book " THE RULES ", a few years ago.
If young women want to get married, all they have to do is stop having sexual congress with every Tom, Dick, and Harry who drops by, orders a pizza, and imagines that that is a " date ". THAT IS NOT A DATE ! It certainly is NOT courtship either.
Cohabiting is also totally out of the question!
All of the malcontented males here, who imagine that they are Conservatives , don't have a leg to stand on, when bemoaning the fact that they can't find any " nice " girls and refuse to even think that getting married is a " good " idea. I've read your juvenile diatribes about the court system, divorce, etc. and since some of those posts are written by never married men, it's all just solophistic drivel. WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO OFFER ANYWAY ? Truth be told, from what I've seen of the replies you guys post, the answer is NOT A HECK OF A LOT ! You come off sounding juvenile, selfish, miserly, and completely uninviting.
Divorce is NOT automatic . Have you ever thought that maybe you 1) picked the wrong woman to marry ( those of you who are divorced and grumpy ) 2)didn't work hard enough at being married 3) took the marriage and your partner for granted 4) were part of the problem ? There ARE some instances, when one party is NOT at fault ; however, that's pretty rare.
For those of you bemoaning the court system, there was a time, not so long ago, which, FYI lasted far longer than what we have now, when men got the children, the house, the woman's dowery, and she was left with nothing; not even a skill to support herself with and was " used goods ", into the bargin. You fellas were just born in the wrong time; that's all.
There ARE Conservative girls with brains out there. If you want to get one, you'd best polish yourself up first . Many men are " empty suits " and turn those girls off.

This thread is crying out for innocentbystander or his doppelganger, buddhaboy.
The reality is that men tend to prefer younger mates and women prefer older. As a consequence, the older a man gets the bigger his pool to choose from, and the older a woman gets, the smaller the pool.
The closer I get to 30, the more attractive women I seem to come across. I haven't found my soulmate yet, but then again, maybe she's home tonight studying for her geometry exam. :o)

These women who never got married are looking at a bleak future. I hear it all the time. They have no husbands but they also avoid successfully married women. You can imagine why.
No joy.

True to a certain extent, unless you have children the age mine are. My youngest is 18, I'm 44. I suppose I could start another family, but I don't want any more children. So, that cuts out me being interested in anyone much younger than I am. And, if I meet someone close to my age, more than likely they have children around age 10 or younger. I have no desire to put up with and deal with ex-husband, and all the baggage that goes with it.

I dunno, JC. Maybe our boy's got what it takes to go for the gold -- volunteer work at the local lesbi-gay-bi crisis center.
