At this point, either Bush steps forward and plays the bad cop and mobilizes and invades or Iraq joins the nuclear club. The tower of babel eminating from the UN is worse than useless.

U.N. weapons inspectors said Thursday they have not found any "smoking guns" but have discovered that Iraq violated U.N. sanctions by importing parts for its missile program.

So it's basically a soon-to-be smoking gun. Just as bad, in my opinion. The UN shouldn't give them a break just because they're not finished preparing to annihilate Israel (or Kuwait, or the U.S.).

I have been watching my news ticker all day and that Smoking Gun headline had been rolling and rolling. This one popped up real quickly and I saw it. Hopefully Fox will pick this up because I doubt anyone else will.

Good. Seeing Blix' actual comment shows how dishonest the reporting has been. It has been deliberately distorted.

The "anti-war" element is mobilizing. Next weekend they plan to begin creating trouble in public in numbers as large as they can acheieve.

Exactly! I was listening on and off -- and heard Dick Durbin shooting off his mouth -- and was shocked to hear Blix's actual remarks. Nothing close to what the anchors were saying!

I was just going to say...that all I've heard all morning on talk radio news breaks is how there has been 'no smoking gun' found.

And people make fun of those of us who keep a roll of reynold's wrap conveniently located near the TV...now I gotta get a roll to store in my glove compartment.

Blix made the point of saying that ...

1)Saddam is hiding scientists

2)They violated the sanctions ...by making missilies.

<3>They have a banned explosive.

4)Iraq has the ingredients to make a chemical weapon..

Yes. I heard the "no smoking gun" comment before seeing the entire statement and it was deliberately reported to be taken exactly oppositie as Blix used it.
