RLK has never said a kind word about this President - never. You are correct in calling him a reflexive Bush-basher. It is quite obvious that he does not follow President Bush at all or he would know that his accusations and assumptions are nothing more than lies. He should be ignored since he is not an informed voice but a hateful, angry, bitter and petty man. Having differences with the President is one thing - slashing and burning every single day is a RAT tactic...which is what he probably is, anyway.

What Reagan had to deal with was worse that anything Bush could conceive of in his lifetime, unless Bush worsens the problems. It appears we haven't been living in the same nation.

By the way, Owen and Estrada have already been re-nominated. They were among the 30 that President Bush sent up yesterday.

Bush also has great attention to detail, is incredibly disciplined (another "un-Clinton" characteristic), apparently is very perceptive in terms of reading people, and engenders a fierce loyalty among those who have the privelege of working for him.

Since the day he began running for the office I have never heard anything forceful or incisive from him... Then you are not listening.

------------------------

I listen all right. I just don't fantasize and project ideas into the platitudes I'm hearing. There is a difference between listening and fantasy.

Oh, if only you, RLK, with your blinding intellect, leadership qualities, and general air of optimism, were President!

I'm too honest and serious to qualify for the job.

BTW, I like that moniker: Tom "Petty"

I didn't catch that. "Tom Petty and the Petty Thieves"

A fine moniker, indeed!

It is mystifying to me how President Bush could actually believe that the Democrats would ever, for any reason, put aside "partisan political differences." It would be akin to a cripple giving up his wheelchair.

In Bush's world, honorable gentlemen put aside political differences for causes higher than themselves. But to the hard left, all that exists is The Agenda. Nothing else matters. The survival of America and freedom as we know it are just distractions. People like Tom Daschle get up every morning solely to gather and use political power.

You got it. The Democrats intend to be so cooperative with Bush that they aren't even going to move heaven and earth to run their own presidential candidates against him or Jeb when it's his turn.

Also, you are too humble.

-------------------------

Few people seek the presidency out of humility. Most seek it because of ambition and pride. In my case neither humility nor pride are of concern to me. I simply call things the way I see them.

Uh, facing terrorists who can come in at any time and kill thousands of people is not worse than what Reagan faced? How can you make that comparison. Both men were elected "for a time such as this." It's back to DU for you, RLK.

I agree with your comments. Bush is the only President since Reagan to tell the UN and the Euroweenies to go fly a kite. Bush 41 and Clinton couldn't wait to kiss their arses.

Well-put. And, of course, "The Agenda" is anything that will get them elected. Any question why they are the "Evil Party"?

h, facing terrorists who can come in at any time and kill thousands of people is not worse than what Reagan faced? How can you make that comparison.

--------------------------

You must be very young or very misinformed. For a period of time before Reagan took office there were 500 bombings a year committed by left wing groups in this country. What existed was a 20 year long madness culminating in Carter and the hostage crisis. Additionally there was at least one instance in which somebody here pushed the wrong button. The Kremlin was minutes away fro launching a full nuclear counterstrike. A hurried phone call to the soviets from the president stopped the Soviet launch with a warning from the Soviets that if it happened again there would be no stopping the counterattack. It was that close to 300,000,000 people dieing within an hour. Bush doesn't know what pressure and or a serious crisis are.

I don't agree with Reagan on everything. He made a few mistakes. However, after 20 years of madness Reagan brought a sense of sanity, stability, and self-respect back to this nation. For that I will always be grateful.

Bush Sr. pissed away the Reagan momentum and gave us the Clintons. Bush Jr. is a chip off the old block. When the history of this nation is written in the future, Bush will be credited with setting up its final decline. For the lirfe of me I can not understand what people here see in the Bushs. You are desperately trying to create an idol to worship and become angry with anyone who declines to join in that worship for raining on your parade.
