I do think you need to work on your history a bit. We didn't join WWII because the Axis attacked "our allies", but because they attacked us. You might have heard about that little Pearl Harbor thing. And if we're going to war with Iraq, as you say, for the sake of Israel, then I'd have to agree with the cabbie that Israel is perfectly capable of fending for herself and should be left to do exactly that.

Ok, I simplified things for him because he was a dummycrat, but Al-Queda attacked us and their ally is Iraq.

Point of fact: The US was in WWII almost from the beginning. We may not have sent troops, but we had a supply flotilla supporting England early on. If we hadn't England would have had an even harder time holding out.
Look, we learned from WWII that you can't stand idly by and hope things turn out okay. It's better to face up to the inevitability of mad-men like Hussein obtaining long range missiles and nukes, unless we prevent it.
We don't demand nations adopt our form of government, or main religion or anything else except a willingness to live in peace with their neighbors and the rest of the world. We conquer nations and leave them to decide their own destiny afterwards. We often provide them millions or billiosn of dollars to help them afterwards.
