As expected, President Bush announced his economic stimulus plan today in Chicago, and surprised many with how comprehensive and 'bold' it was. In the plan, 92 million taxpayers would receive, on average, a tax cut of $1,083 in 2003. The plan would also adjust the tax rates to 10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, 35%. Also today, the new Republican Senate majority was sworn in, and their first priority was to extend unemployment benefits, a plan the President supports. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I heard some statement from Daley, and he was promoting the President's plan 100% - said it was the greatest thing he had ever heard Daley said that??

ALSO, KAREN HUGHES IS WRITING A BOOKWow! Well, we know we want to buy that one! And I'm glad to hear that Frum is not going all over the place trashing the President. Listening to Drudge (so over, I agree), I thought the book was a hit piece. He needs to shut up - unless he was just trying to get people interested in buying it...but, I doubt it.

This is the Bush Blitzkrieg. Remember the first year of his presidency, he had a new issue or bill every week. While the Rats were trying to argue against something, he was on to the next issue.
This is going to be the pattern, and they will be constantly off-guard because they won't know what's going to be next.
This is a good thing.

You know, for the first half of 1991, I was almost under the impression that Matthews was a relatively (key word) objective observer. He was lefty-biased somewhat, but not totally whacko-unreasonable. All that changed shortly after 9/11. I mean, he's totally out in the cosmic, nether regions of liberalism. How many times has he said that GW has been "corrupted" by "neo-cons", and so-on-and-so-forth? I haven't watched him in over a year. Strangely, my life has gone on.

Most likely. I think my mom thinks that I'm obsessed with GWB. She kind of looked at me weird when I told her that I wanted Fighting Back and Bush at War for Christmas.

I didn't expect to fool anybody. It just makes it easier for me to stomach the dems spewing their garbage if I picture them as little [color edited to avoid charges of racism] men... with Daschle appearing life-sized.

LOL - I stayed in bed like a baby! Missed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday on FR! I stared at the computer, but didn't feel like confronting it.
My daughter took care of me yesterday, got sick last night. Talk about a guilt trip - she fixed me lunch and dinner, then about 3:00 this morning she was up sicker than a dog!
We are back to the normal course of events today, I'm taking care of her. LOL
She leaves this weekend, hopefully she's over it by then.

I was watching the Leher report on PBS (I sometimes do this to laugh), and they had Mitch Daniels and some guy names Spratt ( I kid you not) for the Democrats.
Of course, Spratt is complaining about how much these tax cuts will cost (they don't COST anything, stupid - just will keep your money grubbing hands off of my money), and the thing is the tax cuts have not even gone in effect yet. No one really challenges these guys. All of the main news programs are exactly the same - written for the brain dead.
Even Mitch Daniels was out there with renewed confidence - he kept telling Leher that what Spratt was saying was not true. I am just lovin' all this.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Dose, Studs and Glamour Queens and Maidens,
I am back! from the duties of hostessing for three months ... alas, I return only for three weeks to full-time Dose Appreciation Duty, as my guest will return in about that much time for another month or two (after which she returns to Eastern Europe to work).
Allow me to say how VERY MUCH I have missed full-time participation in The Dose, how glad I was to be able to lurk and post occasionally ... and how much I have missed visiting with all of you.

My husband bought me
Bush at War without even asking. LOL!
On a positive note, we have had several books out about the President, and NONE involve scandals, unlike the books that came out after Clinton's first two years. I just thought I would mention this, since the press won't notice this until 2015.
