It is one of the only fairly recent pictures I have. I am always the photographer in a situation, a cop-out I learned long ago to avoid being photographed! -and I had to scan it and crop it to have it pass muster... like the old one on the plane. If there is a photo of me I CAN stand, it is a 10 year old one!
To: HairOfTheDog
The plane in the picture is a Beechcraft Sundowner, it is a bit heavier in weight than a Grumman, but still a four seater... (Which really fits three!) Yep, I thought it looked bigger. He has two Grummans that are flyable now, and one that he might fix up. Here is his latest that he fixed up. It's a 2-seater:

I KNEW I would forget someone on my list!
Good morning Dawntreader and Wneighbor, two newer regulars at the Hobbit Hole that I missed when I was thinking up that list!
Today our hobbit hole is featured over here! Field Trip!

Hair - you are truly one of FR's finest! I hope that you know how appreciative I am of your efforts. I consider you to be one of my dearest friends and I can't wait for Entmoot so I can give you a BIG HUG! :)
Now, enough of the mushy stuff! I served a banquet at the Hole, for us and any visitors we may have today.
Hair, you are tops!!

Cool! - The neat thing about the Grumman Cheetah was it has the coolest slide-back canopy, made a young girl-pilot-hobbit feel like she was taxiing in a little fighter jet when she slid it open! :~D
To: RMDupree
Thank you Ruthy! I will join you for breakfast over at the hobbit hole, I am mostly caught up here! Everyone is being very nice over there too, this morning I hope!
To: HairOfTheDog
I don't know, Hair, you are very nice looking in the recent photo.
Are there very many ranges in your area? Miami has only one that I know of.

That picture was taken at an old gravel pit up in the woods where we can go to plink... informal, but good if you show up early in the morning before the guys that bring a case of beer with them for their day of shooting!
Most of the time, I go to our local Police Dept training range, which they open to the public on the days they aren't using it. It is indoors and warm, with nice automatic targets that run out on electric pulleys with the push of a button. It costs only a few dollars to shoot there, and it is very safe and people follow basic range rules!
To: Sam Cree
We also have a private gun club that I used to belong to, but I let it lapse. Used to go there alot to shoot shotgun, till my dogs got to old to hunt, and I picked up the horse hobby. They have a pistol range too, but outside, and weather-dependent.
To: HairOfTheDog
I like those informal kind of ranges the best, as long as folks don't drink beer, that is.
But a cold beer sure does taste good at the end of an afternoon of shooting or hunting, especially when the weather is cool.
I am not a pistol shooter, but think I will become one, maybe with a 1911.

Do your horses mind if you shoot while you are on them?

I don't think I would try to shoot while on them!
They are OK with fairly distant gunfire, the gun club I mentioned above borders one of the trail-heads I ride out of. But close up gunfire might be a little harder to reassure them about.

"I found it extremely distasteful (not to mention downright fatal to my hosiery) to crawl on my hands and knees, nothing is too good for my readership. (The bumps on my head are starting to disappear)." Gandalf didn't haveta crawl upon entering Bilbo's HobbitHole, so it appears any hosiery damages were 100% attributable to the FReeWill of the writer of this FReeper'sFinestText...LOL!!
Who's the quadriped responsible?!
