This is (to some degree of certainty) the first time I've heard mention of it, but no matter, I'm relatively new here.

I like FR as it is (warts and all). I could do without the porn, but the components to remedy such incidents are already in place, as evidenced in this thread.

It took me to about the 100th post to fully understand what this thread was all about. The original poster while trying to do a VERY good thing in warning us Freepers created a thread (This one) that was very confusing for those of us who did not see the porn that was being spammed on here.

You need to take a chill pill and apologize to XBob.

All the whining on this thread is an embarrassment. I GUARENTEE YOU that the person who posted this crap (More than likely someone from DUhhh) is laughing his ass-off reading through here.

I'm talking about a ONE-TIME credit card "donation" of at least $1---BEFORE someone can POST the first time. Anyone could lurk for free.

That would enable FR to have a way to IDENTIFY (via a credit card charge which is obtained via a SSN) and FILE CRIMINAL CHARGES against a criminally disruptive poster, e.g. the guy who posted the supposedly outrageous pornography (I didn't see it).

Back when I signed up, I believe you had to make 25 or so comments to already existing threads before you could post your own thread. Returning to that might cut down on the new hit and run trolls. They are able to sign up and immediately post a thread.
