Fade to White The only African American Republican in Congress is headed home. Can the party of Lincoln -- and Trent Lott -- afford the loss of J.C. Watts?

By Jake Tapper Sunday, January 5, 2003; Page W06

The empty halls of the Longworth House Office Building echo as Oklahoma Rep. J.C. Watts Jr. makes his way -- for one of the last times -- to his office.

J.C. Watts is being replace by Tom Cole, a Chickasaw Indian. Watch in 2004 and you will probably see J.C. Watts, Jr.'s, name on the ballot for United States Senator from Oklahoma if what I am hearing here is true!

"A black man voting for the Republicans," he was often quoted as saying, "makes about as much sense as a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders." said Watts' father who is a democrat and could never figure out why his son became a Republican.

The Republican party was formed as the anti-slavery party. I guess he never got the message.

The Democrats are telling Al Sharpton to get lost, they want nothing to do with his presidential candidacy.I believe they did the same thing with Jesse Jackson.Guess the Sharpton's and Jacksons are good enough to get out the black vote when their Democrat masters order them to,but not good enough to run for office. The Democrats have never condemned any of the behaviors of Sharpton or Jesse-in fact they defended them. So,then, why isn't Al now good enough to run for the Democrat nomination? Do you think Jake Tapper might look into that?? Will the Congressional Black Caucus hold a press conference and denounce the DNC?? Terry MacAuliffe , billclinton and the rest of the good ole boy, white Democrat Party hierarchy should have big "U"s on their heads for "Uuusers".

Yes, it was a long article - long and sad, if you ask me. I like J.C. but he couldn't learn the 'kiss a--' game. Wish he WOULD write a book telling all about it!! I wonder if those congressmen ever feel shame about the things they do?

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

The first thing I thought when I read that was, "Summer posted another Jeb Bush comment. Does she ever quit?" Then I looked at the screename.

Whose seat is up for grabs, Inhofe's or Nickles'? ...I hope it's the latter.

Gee, it seems like only yesterday that Jake was dating Monica Lewinsky and embarrassing himself on that snotty, 20-something CNN chat show. It's just impossible to fail when you live on the Left.

Vote Democrat...the Bottom-Feeding Party!
