Jake Tapper, who used to write for Salon, and I remember from covering the campaign in 2000, now shows up in the Weekly Standard with this excellent article.

How interesting. I wonder if Mr. Tapper has reconsidered some of his opinions.

BTTT! Yup, Tapper may be changing his former opinions from the Salon-salad days...at least we can always hope he has, and this article is definitely a good start. I was listening a couple weeks ago to an NPR [the enemy network] do an report on how Iraqi's feel about the impending war and the journalist who went on location in Jordan to interview refugees was blown away by how supportive of the U.S. they were...and admitted that he had a specific agenda story in mind when he started his interviews. But the stories of Saddams atrocities was so pervasive and heinous, by the end of the interviews, he pulled away from his agenda, and just told their stories without much of his varnish at all.... Maybe there is hope that even the RATS can be redeemed.

Tapper was a very good reporter for Salon. I don't know if he fits in politically with the Weekly Standard, but he can definitely write quality articles which are not out of place there.
