Friends of mine had their house vandalized from the outside a couple of weeks ago, 2AM in the morning. The guy grabbed a baseball bat and called the police. They came in about 10 minutes. Guy goes and meets them in the back yard where they were looking around (turned out it was rotten eggs thrown at the house). He tells the police that he didn't have a gun... they answered that he and his family were "safer" that way.

What are they teaching police now? Anything could have happened in the time it took for the police to get there, and as Farah says, they aren't responsible by law for any protection. The world is getting crazier by the minute, it seems.

JH2, Making a felon out of people who are defending themselves in any way, is EVIL!! But, that seems to be the object of such gun laws as "registration". Now, this guy will be barred from owning ANY firearms because he committed the "crime" of defending himself with an "unregistered" firearm. Made a criminal for exercising the most BASIC of rights {survival} that surpasses the intent of any and all laws to the contrary. EVIL!! Peace and love, George.

Sounds like Freamon should go after HCI and rosie's (already moneyless) groups, take this case to the people (Interviews on Fox News). Perhaps some NY FReepers might help (421 registered in NY) him with this.
Just a thought.
