I'm pretty sure the 1911 would qualify as a militia weapon. Too bad the 9th circuit has it's boa constrictor hold on all us west coasters necks.

You know... before Kalifornia passed the 30 day per handgun law... I was averaging about 2 handguns a year. When the 30 day per handgun law was passed and enacted... I was averaging about 14 handguns a year. Would have been more too, if I found more private party sales. :)

Now, with the new HSC thumbprint requirement, I think I will start buying more of those evil sniper rifles. :D

"They'll never designate a pistol as safe."

How long before they deem cars as unsafe? Then what comes next? Cell phones? The only thing unsafe in California are uncontrolled politicians.

Aww, c'mon Boris. Don't stop now. That's what the bastids want. I'm buying a new handgun this coming Monday just to piss off Perata and the rest of the libs. And to help the economy too, of course :)

Colt IS still making hangun. They most likely didn't hand any over to Cali. for the testing. And yes, the series 80's do have a firing pin safety. This prevents the firing pin from contacting the primer unless the trigger is pulled. Think this was possible if the pistol was dropped from over 30 feet high onto a concrete surface, hitting hammer first. Nice pistols, mine is right in front of me.

Let's see the 1911 has been around, ooh, about 90 plus years, and kalifornia thinks its unsafe? That's longer than Earl Schibe (sp) has been painting cars.

Thanks for the information. It seems the quickest way to get LOTS of knowledge is to be off the mark on a FR shooting or 2A thread. I have a Kimber Gold Match that I really enjoy (except their factory sight, which has since been replaced) Have a good weekend.

Regards, Slim

Perhaps it's time to EXPELL Kalipornia from the union.

10-4, just looked also. I have no idea what it means as Colt is still producing guns. Perhaps they are reworking the site? Thanks for the info. Will keep watching.

Yeah; I thought about a "Gun of the Month Club" just to make them angry. Trouble is, I couldn't afford to join such a club, and I doubt many could.

Wouldn't it be awesome if gun dealers advertised, "We do not sell to government officials or law enforcement officers."

Wouldn't it be great if gun manufacturers declared, "We do not sell to government agencies, only people."
