"Millions of black adults," which includes parents and non-parents alike. Such a pedantic man as yourself has no excuse for such sloppiness.

wow, I am amazed you are hunting this down to the last split hair of diction with me, and yet you do not question the author's unsubstantiated claims of "fact" indicting millions of people of criminal conspiracy.
The exact phrase was "parents and authority figures" - typically such men as preachers and politicians. Throw in the Jesse-wannabes and Jackson himself as an extra class of "authority" figure. Who else is there? Who else is anywhere near as numerous as the parents themselves. Do you deny that this is the main implication of the author's words?

There were two phrases: "Millions of black adults," and "black parents and authority figures." There are at least what, 20 million black adults?
I can't speak for the author, but for me -- and for an awful lot of black folks -- the phrase "authority figures" includes teachers, police officers, social workers, subway motormen, bus drivers, businessmen, store managers, youth workers, security guards, probation officers, etc., etc. To reduce "authority figures" to religious and political leaders is ridiculous.

bus drivers?
Subway motormen?
To: demosthenes the elder
but not Subway sandwich makers, I see.

I see you haven't spent time in many black neighborhoods. See how black motormen and bus drivers carry themselves in black NYC neighborhoods.

"Now, before I bring out my first guest, I just want to say that February is Black History Month. Isn't that nice? The Man gives us February because it's the shortest month of the year! Now, I'm not complaining, but I think we deserve at least a 30-day month. It's also the coldest month of the year, just in case we wanted to have a parade."

hrmn... let's see...
I live in a black neighborhood now...
I lived in a predominantly black and Latino neighborhood in Atlanta for four years...
I lived in various almost entirely black neighborhoods in New Orleans for seven years...
I spent plenty of time in a black neighborhood in Philadelphia for four years...
Are you beginning to see a trend?

The black guy who invented the "holiday" Kwanzaa from a jail cell was well noted for his crimes against blacks.
Did somebody say Kwanzaa? "C'mon, Kwanzaa Timmy, whatcha gonna gimme?"

I believe your hood is too small for your fat head. This is why I refuse to discuss race issues anymore. As soon as anyone challenges the liberal lies about race in America he's branded as a racist.
In any event, blacks are f*****d in America for the reasons the author cites and for a myriad of other reasons as well.
Reparations will not save the black man. Race-baiting will not save the black man. Jesse Jackson and his corporate extortion strategies will not save the black man. And ignoring the problems in the black community will not save the black man.
The black community needs more Rev. Peterson's to lead it out of spiritual slavery. Only then can black America also move forward out of the condition in which it finds itself....
