CROWLEY: A quick look now at politics and the media.
The continued popularity of conservative voices like Rush Limbaugh has Democrats wondering how to create a media megaphone of their own.
Senior analyst Jeff Greenfield has some thoughts. He is with me now from New York -- Jeff.

The blindness of the liberal media to their own bias is behind their fall in viewer/readership. And finally, the leftist arrogance that creates this lack of perception is what will be the death of them. Next up: academia (I hope).

What conservatives like Rush Limbaugh have done is to figure out to make their views entertaining and compelling to large audiences. And that is the essential challenge facing liberals today -- Candy. No Candy. In the talk radio format the callers are allowed to cross-examine the host for days on end. This makes lying and deceiving much more difficult.

I actually heard a story about how Christianity is the largest religion in the world NOT Islam and that Christianity is supposed to grow even larger in the next decade. When is the last time anyone heard that kind of news on CNN, etc. I heard that yesterday and was struck by the report in the same way. You can't underestimate the power of the media.

Hey morons.....could it maybe be that the people are sick and tired of hearing RAT spin??? Could it be that just maybe they want to hear BOTH sides of the issues. Could it be that just maybe they're not willing to go quietly into RAT controlled socialist slavery??? Maybe they realize that y'all are a bunch of liberal lying losers and they're tired of being lied to and manipulated by every RAT with an agenda. Maybe they're tired of words being put in their mouths. Maybe they'd like to use their own words. Just maybe the American people would like to determine the future and not have it preordained by the RAT elites. Or maybe, morons, you have just become completely irrelevant.

"CNN can pretend FOX is conservative all they want, but the truth is, the people have decided that they are FAIR and BALANCED." Exactly! If Fox really had a conservative bias, then the only raving RATS that would be on would be there for the purpose of having a bunch of conservatives gang up on them to discredit them. Is that the case? Far from it. If anything, ranting RATS are disproportionately allowed access to the audience and are actually treated as if they should matter. They even have raving lunatic RATS on their staff in positions of some influence.
No; Fox is not skewed to the right. They just present the truth and they challenge the lies that spew from the left and hold them accountable for them. The problem is that the truth is the enemy of the RAT party and the liberal left and as long as ANYBODY is getting the truth out there they will continue to rant about unfairness, no matter how skewed other sources may be in THEIR favor.

Agreed.
News is all about marketing, and I imagine Fox News has done plenty of surveys, focus groups and other data collection to see who is watching, and why they watch. It would be really interesting to see that information.

Yeah, when it gets right down to it, Fox news, Rush and FR are the big 3, the cord not easily broken, and as long as all 3 remain intact then we have hope!

"Actually, I think FOX's graphics suck."
I agree, they keep blocking the cleavage shots on some newscasters.

"Their most effective use of the media is slander against conservatives through fiction (like the Frank Burns character in MASH)." LOL! That's good.

"The great equalizer is the electoral college in Presidential elections, but doesn't play a factor in statewide elections." I will never forget the first public announcement of Hillary Clinton following her "election" in 2000 and while the result of the presidential election was still being tied up by Al Gore, that it was past time to do away with the electoral college and I believe she also said something about working to do so. That would, indeed, be a complete win for the RATS who really do not represent more than the cities. Think of the the recent "election" of Mary Landrieu. As typical. they waited till the last minute to start producing their results after they knew they were losing and set out to "find" the necessary amount of votes in the two major cities in Louisiana to swing the election in their favor. This is a favorite technique of theirs and one that needs to be challenged by doing something such as requiring ALL votes to be in before ANY are counted.
The cities with their RAT infestations combined with large doses of voter fraud, effectively negate large numbers of conservative votes in every election. Elimination of the electoral college would be a dream come true for the RATS and under no circumstances should be allowed to occur.

"It is fun to see the libs get a real-life lesson on the ways of the "invisible hand" of the free market." Being amused is one thing, but never underestimate their need for power and the requisite for squelching of any opposition to their grabs for it by any means at their disposal, always keeping in mind that they do not play by the same rules as the rest of us. Indeed, they do not even seem to believe that rules apply to them at all. They may be entertaining, but they are also dangerous.
