Technical Note / Question: ...?? The original ht.X width dimensions were out of proportion; it took about eight times to get it looking right. I guess that's the way it's done? Trial & error, or should I've used a calculator?

Left Photo = From Drudge = http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20030501/capt.1051796193.japan_us_military_xkk101.jpg = 200 X 329 = was way too wide; I finally changed it to: 290 X 250.
Right Photo = http://home.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkPhoto?GUID=31c29e0a-4ba2-5354-4bb1-4fe4bd9c3525 = 236 X 320 = also too wide, changed it also to 290 X 250. In the FR thread, it looked great: #18 by two23
