Orrin Hatch of Utah summed up what Republicans expect of Bill Frist, Lott's successor: "I think Bill has a kind of a more moderate record and a more moderate approach toward things, and I think that it's going to be very difficult to criticize him."
I wonder if the same people who were calling for Lott to step down are also adimately pro-life? After all, Lott was going to bring up a partial birth abortion bill; somehow, I doubt that's first on Dr. Frist's agenda.
I don't want to hear any whinning on this site from any actions (or in actions) on the new Majority Leader's part; you all who were calling for Lott's head deserve what you get.
