Are the moslemaniacs pulling in their devil's horns a bit?
Or merely running scared?

... "That is an extreme statement. We disagree with the sentiment of the statement. Muslims, as a whole, do recognize the holidays of the other faith groups," Mr. Khan said ...
Like, say, Yom Kippur?

Dr. Elmasry said Islam allows followers to marry Jews and Christians and in Canada there are many multi-faith families, including his own. "My wife used to be Roman Catholic and converted to Islam... An interesting multi-faith marriage.

I've been criticizing American Muslims, who live in a safe, free society where they can speak out without being lynched, for not condemning Islamic violence. Now someone in Canada has done so. At least it is a start.

Why can't these folks say the same sort of thing about all the calls to murder Christians? When they do, with the same sort of publicity, I'll take their protests more seriously.

Several Muslim leaders spoke out sternly against the message.
"The Muslim leaders condemned the message for not only contradicting the teachings of Islam but for building walls between Muslims and Christians in Canada. "It is a ridiculous statement and doesn't follow Islamic teaching. Whoever says this is saying it out of ignorance of his or her own religion," said Mohamed Elmasry, national president of the Canadian Islamic Congress."
These are the kinds of statements we can appreciate hearing from "main stream" Muslims, if there is such a thing. This would be the first glimmer I have seen, if so.
The Quaran seems to say many things that contradict each other.

At least it is a start. This is honestly the first time I have heard of a Muslim Cleric call for tolerance of any other religion.

I rarely read of such a marriage where the wife does not convert to Islam as a PRECONDITION to the marriage. The most important thing is that she breed more Muslims. Kinda crude but that's the level Islam operates on. Islam is about quantity not quality. 1.3 billion strong and growing is what they like to crow.
Orthodox Jewish men will do the same but how many Orthodox Jews are on this planet? 4 million?

I think we are misinterpreting the true intent of the islamists here. The message from the mosque was most likely only intended to encourage the use of the proper multi-cultural seasonal greeting:
Happy Hanna-Dan-a-Wanzaa-Mas!
This all inclusive greeting is the only culturally sensitive way to express felicitations of the season.

Like, say, Yom Kippur? Ofcourse! Don't forget the muslim fireworks of Yom Kipur war.

"My wife used to be Roman Catholic and converted to Islam..."
She, Of course, HAD to convert!
They probably hired a PR firm which told them the way to fool Americans is to lie to them and tell them what they want to hear, you know, like the politicians of both parties do. Just throw us a "crumb" of decency and we feast as if it is a banquet. Until these devils condemn the murdering of civilians, I will not believe anything they say.

Aha! One of the few interdenominational discussions in which Muslims are unequivocally tolerant. What a refreshing change.
Too bad it took 15 months. Nevertheless, I encourage Muslims willing to live side-by-side with other faiths to stand up to terror supporting Islamists. If you can recapture your religion from them, the destruction of Islam will not be required.
Good luck!

If this woman at all understood her Christian faith, and then let it go for Satan and a man, she will spend eternity in the lower portions of hell.

Bwhahahahah Islam has slaughtered more people in the name of its god than any other religion on the planet today... This is comical.

Yes, and we should give him a chance rather than jump on him because of all his violence-loving peers. It is a little ray of hope in a situation where I am quite pessimistic.

and his life thread is what? I have lived all over the moslem world and this kind of statement makes your life thread short. Follow the news and chart his progress.

They did. It's just that no one wanted to listen. Do a Google search on "muslim condemn terrorist attacks" and you'll find there was plenty of condemnation. Whether you believe they are sincere is up to you.
Bring on the flames. I don't care. I'm just sick and tired of hearing that tired old story (Muslims are silent on terorism), when even a cursory search proves that to be untrue.
And another thing: For those mainstream Muslims who ARE silent, maybe it's because they know they practice a completely different religion than the radicals, and DON'T OWE YOU an apology. Just as maintream Catholics don't feel responsible for IRA bombings in N. Ireland.
