Thank you for that posting. We will know when the job is done when the Islamic world embraces participatory government and emancipation of women, and at the same time "educated" opinion in Europe continues to maintain that the Americans are stupid. That sort of hegemony is much more effective than empire - and much longer-lasting.

Forget the spelling...

What we are witnessing is a new birth of freedom. It will be something that will be a major stake through the heart of the agruments created by the likes of Pat Buchanan. We will prove that freedom will work anywhere it is tried.

And if freedom and democracy can be promoted in the MidEast, where else might it be promoted? Can you say "The People's Republic of China?"

Oh, man, the thoughts going through my head are kinda big right now, but i I were to make a guess, I would have to say that Bush intends to export the ideals of freedom and democracy to places it does not currently exist.

"The world will return to tribal wars in Africa, debating bits of the WTO agreement and comparing the navels of Shakira and Britney Spears."

I say we start now.

.....A fuzzy plan "turns out, upon closer examination, to be a plan for transforming the entire Muslim Middle East: for bringing it, once and for all, into the modern world......"

This statement is a rehash of my posts for the last year.

It has been stated over and over by guests on Fox news but always ignored by the Fox guys and the majority on Free Republic.

Our best hope is a coup and abdication by Saddam to Tripoli as rumored.

Did you miss something on the 28th ?

It' all over but the shouting. We're going in, the Iraqi military will fold, Saddam and his progeny will be "dealt with", there'll be a parade, soldiers will get kissed, pretty girls will smile for the cameras, kids will get chocolate from American soldiers.

Absolutely President Bush has a strategy to drop democratic bombs on the Middle East. He is also attempting to innoculize Africa from Islamacism. Now's not the time to go wobbly, to quote Lady Thatcher.

Your concerns for the top of the world in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir are of another order and quite legitimate. The keystone in that region, (and I know You know), is Pakistan, seemingly an intractable problem. But you're right in that it is the Saudi money at the root of funding the arms, and Maddrass breeders of terrorists.

And that may be the key to the intractability: remaking the Middle East, cutting off extremist funding, and exacting continuous pain on the enemy. Then you may argue that we're running out of time for that process to produce results in Pakistan.

OK, if that's not enough, then Pakistan will have to be involuntarily disarmed of its nukes. That'd be OK by me.

They (Pakistanis) had better watch how we deal with Iraq and North Korea, because that type of nuke rattling simply will no longer be tolerated.

Bump!

I've predicted this since 9/11!

The middle east is soooo overdue for a wakeup call.

Reagan won the Cold War, God Bless him.

Dubya gonna lay the smack down on the Terror War and FREE millions of people in the process.

I have no doubt, whatsoever, that the grand scheme is even bigger than even this article indicates.

Dubya is like Machavelli, Sun Tzu, and Confucious all rolled into one.

What a Prez.
