"Hold muh black conservative" ping.
To: Chancellor Palpatine
Blacks that came to the Colonies won the lottery. The 5% of the Slaves that arrived in the Colonies were more fortunate than the other 95% that arrived in Brazil, Cuba, Haiti,Nothern S.A., etc.
Repations are pure Socialism. Ask the Democrats--Who is going to pay for reparations the Government. I am the Government. Industry, my prices will rise. The American People will pay as always.
Backlash-you aint seen nothing yet.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

If you look at just COMBAT deaths sustained by Union soldiers only ( since the Confederates were the slave holders and the Union was the liberators),this country paid a price of 77 body bags full of it's best young men every single day, without a single break, for four years. The Union was just twenty million people in 1860. If we lost the same proportion of combat deaths today, it would mean over one million such body bags. We have paid in blood in full. Case closed.
Some last thoughts: Since Derick Jeter is half Black and half White would he be ordered to move some sum of reparations from his right pocket to his left? Would those who are one quarter Black, three quarters White, have to pay 50% reparations ( since 25% Black would cancel out 25% of his White background?). Stupid? So is reparations except as a way to kill the rat party once and for all.

A few points:
How would they put a value on the rigors of segregation?
Would only the Southern States have to pay?
What about Southerners who moved from the South, would they have to pay?
What about Southerners who didn't support segregation?
To: muir_redwoods
It would seem to me that those states which had segregationary laws regarding schools, marriage, miscegenation, economic activity and voting rights would be the most likely to bear liability. That would probably be Southern, but a few northern ones would be included. Individual defendants would be those persons and corporations which overtly took segregationist action against living Plaintiffs.
As for damages, thats up to a jury. I imagine they would be pretty severe.
