British Writers Select Bush, Sharon as Villains of the Year
Tehran Times ^ | 12/29/2002

TEHRAN -- Some 50 renowned British journalists, writers, and columnists in an opinion poll that was published by the British daily The Independent on Saturday named U.S. President George W. Bush and Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as the worst villains of the year 2002.

Writer John Mortimer argued that he had voted for Sharon as the villain of the year for his disobeying United Nations instructions, possessing weapons of mass destruction, and his opposition to peace, which is providing an excuse for a war on terrorism.

Several others described Sharon as the as the unrivalled criminal of the world.

The participants also said that they had elected President Bush as one of the villains of the year because he is now the focus of world animosity for his policies.

This is not especially helpful. What these intellectual pinheads say has no particular significance to us, but it's likely to encourage the Muslims and make matters more difficult. Regretably it will help persuade them that terrorism works.

Why is it that there is such a huge mass of people of influence, who see the world as they want it to be and not as it really is? It's like they would hold the hand of their executioner all the way to the gas chamber, just knowing that their hope, good thoughts, and love for humanity will buy them a free pass!

Some will not like this answer, but the truth is that Feminine(emotional)reasoning is taking over the world. The same reasoning that keeps a mother loving degenerate children is what keeps many people from making rational judgements about evil.

You cannot ever reason with these people, because they dont accept reality. They have to be defeated or ignored, and kept from power.

If this country ever gets a liberal female president, you may as well leave the country, because it will become a socialist enclave in short order.

Thank you for the post. With very much respect to Freepers, I would like to point out this. Even I, with my ability,(laughs) to speed read, could hardly do this information justice, even after in ten minutes of perusal.

Well, I guess that the header and justifiably so, set some of 'em off. I would presume that the attack on GWB, if not, Sharon was the irritant. Ah well, good for the mind. The task of properly identifying Neville Chamberlain and his place in history, is an impossible one. Once identified with appeasement- he is consigned to the scrap heap of history.

Many people do not seem to have the information that he trusted Hitler. Hitler gave his word on the "last territorial claim in Europe". Hitler's representative then signed the non-agression pact with Dictator Stalin, on August 23rd 1939. This opened the door for the attack on Poland by Hitler, eight days later.

Chamberlain declared war on Germany 48 hours after this betrayal, when his ultimatum was rejected to withdraw. Ok, will mend fences.

Man of the Year. George Walker Bush.

May God bless and preserve him.

P.S. Today, got down to the local public library and found: Burying Caesar. (The Churchill-Chamberlain Rivalry. Graham Stewart. The Overlook Press. Woodstock and New York- 2001. Will read on.

This disgrace from a man I once considered thoughtful:

RICHARD DAWKINS, scientist

Hero: Robert Fisk
He is not afraid to tell the truth, however unpleasant. His serious sincerity redeems the profession of journalist from the dishonour inflicted by the tabloids.

Villain: George Bush
This illiterate buffoon cheated his way into the White House with the help of his well-connected family and friends. Having dismally failed to anticipate or prevent the atrocity of September 11, he spent the rest of the day zigzagging around the country like a jet-propelled chicken. His personal cowardice was mirrored in the country at large, and he fanned it to his advantage in the mid-term elections, and now, to foment an unprovoked war that has nothing to do with terrorism and everything to do with oil. His record on the environment is as appalling as you would expect. Bush is rightly despised throughout the world, and it is humiliating that Britain is seen as his only ally.

He is at least consistent. Anyone who sees the liar Robert "Jenin massacre" Fisk as a truth-teller would also see George W Bush and the USA as he does.

The Tehran Times completely misrepresents this "poll" in the kooky kommunist Independent newspaper. It is to laugh.

What's the problem with these British writers?
I don't recall Bush ever insulting womanly homosexual pedophiles with black teeth and bad breath - - so why don't they like Bush?

(Actually, I already know the answer - - it's because no matter how outrageous they try to be, and no matter how much they kick and scream like two-year-olds nobody, but nobody, in the United States gives the slightest rat's ass what they have to say. These mice simply cannot stand being ignored so profoundly.)

"Some 50 renowned British journalists, writers, and columnists..."

Remind me why we should care what they think.

This is exactly the sentiment that drives these mice nuts, LOL.

Betcha a dollar to a doughnut that Robert ("they didn't beat me up enough") Fisk was right in the center of this group of "renowned" British journalists. Look at Britain with its socialist, lying, gun-grabbing, hug-an-Arab-today policies as the future of the US if we ever let the Democrats get back in power here, until they have first been forced to flush their Clinton toilet.

IMHO.

Many throughout the EU were convinced that the US would cave on Kyoto, the ICC, and heaven knows what else as the price for EU support after 9/11. This article, and much else that comes from the EU media, is simply their ongoing temper tantrum as the US refuses to surrender national sovereignty to the EU/UN alliance, and even worse, refuses to commit economic suicide to benefit the EU.

I thought Will Self's wish for a "friendly cardiac arrest" that would take out Dick Cheney even more tasteless.

Ha, 3 of the 50 named bush as a villain, and 4 named sharon as the villain of the year (and 2 of those 4 are muslims).

Other villains are football(soccer) referees, Al-Qa'ida , Chancellor Schröder,President Chirac ,Le Pen,terrorists in general,british rail,Bin Laden,mugabe,ken livingstone,charity collectors,Robbie Williams,Tony Blair, Cherie Blair,John Major , various minor celebs who've behaved badly etc etc

Hardly a profound poll, i feel, no matter what spin the Tehran Times puts on it.

Yep, people like Self would never wish the same fate for GWB. They fear a Cheney presidency more than anything. Cheney as GWB's VP is W's best life insurance policy ever.

Here's another "what are they smoking over there":
LAUREN BOOTH, writer

Hero: Enron
For revealing the consumer capitalism behind the Bush regime, and making the whole house of cards collapse in front of the world at an embarrassing time. I think they do deserve some applause for being so greedy as does the CEO of the US, Bush himself.

The British always loved their wogs. Wogs were more then happy to empty their occupiers bed pans.
Americans and Jews were never as malleable and therefore troublesome to the English sensibility.
