And June Dawn, born late at night in November.

Had a client once named Morning Dawn. When we commented on the unusual name to the mom, the mom said it was because that's when the child was conceived. Her sister was Misty Ray, supposedly because that's what was seen through the window when she was conceived. The mom impressed me as an aging hippy. June Dawn doesn't quite work out for a November birth for that, though, unless she was quite premature. ;-)

I can only assume she'd decided as a child,"Someday I'm gonna have a little girl an' I'll name her June Dawn", and so she did, even though the name is so...specific it seems odd for the actual birthdate that doesn't match. Then again, June is an older name, so perhaps the child is named for a great aunt or other relative.

A touching way to name your newborn.

It reminds me of the old story about the little Native American child and his mother. (Here's hoping people can take a JOKE.)

Kid: "Mommy, how did I get my name?"

Mom: "Well son, among our people, we have a long tradition. When a child is born, the mother looks out of the tepee and the name comes to her from the first thing that she sees. For example, there's your little sister Standing Faun, and your cousin Soaring Eagle.

Why do you ask, Two Dogs -------?"
