REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES (December 22, 2002) -- Recently Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and Sailors from USS Austin (LPD-4) enjoyed some time off during a port visit to Seychelles. After completing Exercise Edged Mallet in Kenya, USS Austin headed southeast to the tropical resort destination where the crew had three days to unwind.
While there, Marines and Sailors enjoyed a variety of activities and sights from all over the island. While some Marines hit the beach for swimming and sunbathing others took advantage of downtown shopping markets, historic landmarks, Creole cuisine and scenic views.
