Maybe you missed the proposal to farm out a large number of government jobs to private competition; or the proposal to turn over the mail system to private carriers.
I admit, more can be done and SHOULD be done. But in that first move, Bush did more to POTENTIALLY reduce the size of the federal workforce than Reagan did in 8 years.
Privatization has been ongoing for a long time; it did not start with Bush (even Al Gore had some privatization proposals). Bush cannot take credit for that, except that he did not stop it.
And of course, making benefits retroactive increases the burden on those of us that work. Thanks President Bush.
