Somebody please destroy that picture. :-(
Bingo! Please, let the world see these people without the traditional media filters. The truth will only hurt them.
Here's a blurb on Ellen's brother, Bruce Ratner:
Bankroller of Bogus Firefighter Statue Tied to Clintons
"The wealthy New York City developer who put up $180,000 for a politically correct statue based on the photo "Flag Raising at Ground Zero" is a heavy Democratic Party donor who spent the night at the White House as a guest of Bill and Hillary Clinton and who was considered a shoo-in for a top White House post early in the Clinton administration.Bruce Ratner, the CEO of Forest City Ratner Enterprises, who decided to replace two of the three white firefighters captured in a world-famous photo of the flag raising with a more racially diverse duo, spent the night at the White House with his wife, Julie, sometime in 1996. The Clintons have never released the precise dates of their notorious sleep-overs...."
Felicity and I stayed up until 1 a.m. last night so we could watch the Show and get the exact quote. Here it is:
Ratner: [After saying that Bush would be "reelected unless the market tanks" she added this:] Unless he messes up the war -- I hope.
Buttner: [Picking up on Ratner's comment:] I hope!?
Ratner: Well, I don't want him to be reelected.
This was not an off-the-cuff comment at a birthday party for an antique Senator. This was in the middle of a prepared bit on "Ellen Ratner's predictions for 2003." Presumably, she was on-air precisely to make these predictions, and had thought about them in advance.
Ratner made it crystal clear that she is "hoping" for large piles of dead Americans, so some Democrat will defeat President Bush in 2004. Her comment is at least as reprehensible as Trent Toll's comment about Strom Thurmond for President in 1948. Under the circumstances that her's was planned, it is worse.
The citizens of FreeRepublic need to go after Ratner with all guns blazing. The blogger world needs to be involved. Talk radio needs to be involved. And this needs to be spread on the Internet.
As another FReeper is wont to say, "Scouts out. Company ho."

Unless she doesn't show up, that will happen at 6:25 a.m. Eastern, on "American Breakfast" on 2 January, 2003. I'm looking forward to it.

As the politician formerly known as Al Gore has said, my book, "to Restore Trust in America"
Go Get her...
Someone ought to be compiling a video showing all these idiotic remarks. Show 2 hours or more of these traitors and their comments against a backdrop of Reagan, WTC attacks, Oklahoma City attack, etc. I guarantee it would be a box office hit, and put liberals out of power in this country forever.
Include Rangle's mention of stock price drops and demo house seat pickups. Mention this latest from RATner. Add the ACLU, Muslim and pro illegal immigration groups complaining about the treatment of suspected terrorist abettors. Mix in the fact that dems didn't want to vote on homeland security.
Then say that democats and their supporters want bad things to happen to the USA just so they can have power. Ask people to think and look at the democrats with that in mind. Are they standing in President Bush's way because they honestly disagree or is it really because they want another terrorist attack to happen for their own power? Do they block republican bills because of honest disagreement or to have our country's economy falter to increase their power?
If our country having problems is a help to them and their power structure, how much will they hurt us just to retain that power? How much more will they hurt us to increase their power? Think about it.
You can't do that with an all-conservative cast...
I believe your are correct, I was saying don't hire them and certainly do not make them regulars either.
It seems in the past after a few visits, like one more, they begin to act like they are really believed and get more obnoxiously in your face like windbag liberals are prone to do.
I really do not need to hear from them about what they believe since it predictably never changes.
Ratner simply showed the Democrat hand. To hang the disgraced Clinton with his own words re: his "Republican = racism" speech, we should point out that what Ratner said is not an anomaly -- it is what is said on the back roads by Democrats every day.

Make sure you nail her down - what woud she term a failure - does she mean the deaths of hundreds or thousands of our armed forces? Does she really mean she wants to see that as a means of furthering her political agenda? I was sickened by her comment - and have made my feelings known via e-mail to people inside FoxNews Channel that with whom I have had previous email contact.
That's how I read it...
