It's more like one of those bad skits on Saturday Night Live that they keep repeating every week with the same annoying character - only instead of GoatBoy or CanteenBoy it's Hussein.

There won't be too many of them that die. The real training goes on after lights out in the barracks when the guys get together and talk about the best way to surrender. The French have volunteered to infiltrate men into the Iraqi army for just this purpose. It's the French contribution to the war effort.

Iraq is not the only one we have to worry about if we attack them..info I found this morning in a search...
October 2001 - The United States has quietly acknowledged that Iraq and Syria have rapidly developed military cooperation. U.S. officials and defense sources said Iraq and Syria have been coordinating in military exercises as well as communications, command and control. They said the cooperation has increased significantly in recent months...The source said Iraqi and Syrian troops have integrated their anti-aircraft and command and control systems along their mutual border.

So you can measure progress during the next one.

I'm sure they are now thoroughly prepared in soiling themselves and surrender techniques

Sounds like the Iraqis are (belatedly) trying to develop an unconventional warfare capability (i.e. to strike at our rear area and follow-on troops after their units are by-passed in the initial assault). Too little, and way too late: any stay-behind "martyrs" they leave on our lines of communication will be far more likely to surrender than to fight to the death.

They should be pracitcing the fine art of digging their foxholes with a slightly sloping bottom so that they can be buried in em facing mecca. Cut's down on the time DOD mortuary affairs/graves and registration has to put in cleaning up the mess Iraqis are going to make if they don't give SadAssed Insane a one way ticket out of town NOW !
Stay Safe !!

As are the inspections. A site today, two sites tomorrow...never mind.

What could be more demoralizing than to be a grunt in the Iraqi Army, "training" to go up against the US Military.
Poor suckers. For their sakes I hope one of them has the sense to off Saddam before we come calling.

"Babil province"
Hmmmm, are there any famous towers in that province? It seems that spokesmen in this article are carrying on a possibly ancient Iraqi tradition of incoherent babbling.
