Yemeni Politician on American Terrorism
26 December 2002 Email this story Print this story
The speaker of the Yemeni parliament, Abdullah al-Ahmar, said last week, America claims to be fighting terror but is practicing it... The war it is launching is a crusader war.... In remarks published in the Saudi Arabian newspaper Okaz, and reprinted in Syria Times and elsewhere, he said that Americas war is against all Arabs and Moslems.
The anti-Arab American war, according to the Yemeni politician, will only begin with Iraq. Al-Ahmar, the head of the Islamist-tribal party al-Islah, believes that America will not limit its campaign to Iraq. It will be just the beginning and war will then be extended to all Arab countries. Okaz reported: Ahmar warned that the future will be dark and bad for all Arabs and Muslims if the United States attacked Iraq.
In a classic example of reversal of causality, al-Ahmar claimed that the counter-terrorist war has created a feeling of hatred towards the United States among Arabs and Muslims... The Yemeni party leader said, America is showing open hostility to all Arab and Muslim regimes and states, including the kingdom [Saudi Arabia]... American hostility... is targeting everything Islamic.
Not to offend our Indian population, but it's time to start playing Cowboys and Arabs....YeeeHaaa
Now, this gentleman has Scuds.
Thats right, he does. That means Al-Qaeda will have them shortly.
Yes, that would be our intention.
Iraq, followed by internal revolt in Iran, both of which will sell lots of oil for reconstruction (under new gvernments), which will provide carte blanche to pressure the Saudis for reform and action against Islamists, which also will stop the funding of al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbolla, Pakisanti madrassas, and Arafat. Finally, a stern discussion with Pakistan.
Very "dark and bad" indeed.
The death of Islamism.
Momentary impressions are considered as valid as acutal facts, and are all the more ominous because there is absolutely no verification of, and no way to verify, the claims being made. This condition is considered proof of the sinister conspiratorial nature of allegations being made.
Or, in common parlance, this guy's potato done been bakin' too long, and he needs some serious analytical psychotherapy, him and about a gazillion other poor, deluded Arabs who think like him.
Heavily armed VIRGINIANS I might add.
