What should be the cut-off on the cost of freedom?

Do we need to consult Hollywood and/or the rest of the Liberal world before confronting evil?

How about this little novel idea, the government, before deciding on spending blood and treasure, consults the people in either open debate or referendum or a Congressional vote (as per Constitution by the way) on going to war...what a crazy notion. Or do you just believe in giving people blank checks. And for that matter all pertenant questions, such as cost to benefit ratios, should be addressed.
