Thanks sweetie. It almost worked. We made it from Monday night to Wed. night before the argument broke out. I don't know what triggered it, but they started in on Christianity; specifically Jerry Falwell. My daughter attacked him with such viciousness I had to remind her that her attack on Falwell was far worse than what he had said and showed far less tolerence. That got the ball rolling. There's no talking to them about religion because they have swallowed the party line. I closed the discussion by stating that I couldn't argue religion with anyone because I know too much and can't get down to their level of ignorance. Everyone tried to put on a brave face for the rest of the visit. We had breakfast together at Bob Evans yesterday and they went back to Boone. Thank God they only come once a year. Am I awful to feel this way about my own babies? I don't know them any more. I keep wondering where my babies went.
Ah, yes - those wrinkles in life do happen.
Had an unfortunate one myself, generated by a daughter-in-law and - well, getting her way, as usual - old story, repeated over and over.
Like you - LOL - I stood my hallowed ground..:)))
Think we are less able to put up with nonsense, don't you?
And - are we not entitled to that as 'Venerable Ones?'??
