Greatness in what respect. Not all aspire to greatness. Greatness does not inspire all.

A nation that allows its children to be drugged and indoctrinated by its ruling class never will fight back. 1.5 million kids per year x 15 years = 22.5 million kids whose parents saw to it that this did not happen. The home school generation is starting to come of age. History is never shaped by majorities, but only by passionate, committed, and principled minorities.

I think the heros of flight 93 might just disagree with your scenario, if they were still aliveUnderstand I do not wish to take away anything from the heroic actions of the passengers on Flight 93.
What would they have done had they not known what was happening elsewhere that morning? If there were no cell phones.

I understand what you are saying... I too have wondered about that and no one will ever know that answer.
But we can only hope that things have changed since 9/11.

Great Post! Much of what he says reminds of a quote, which lately has become my favorite, made by the author Leon Uris in the Book Exodus, which best describes to me tthe true meaning of LIBERTY and its price:
When it comes to FREEDOM it is "...Better to DIE on one's Feet, Than to LIVE on one's Knees....".
Words of wisdom....

What would they have done had they not known what was happening elsewhere that morning? If there were no cell phones. They most likely would have done nothing. The history of "Hijackings" showed that, most of the time, the crisis would be resolved and people would go home. The ones that ended with deaths were few and the numbers killed small, and their planes were not used as a poor mans cruise missle.
Nine Eleven changed all that. There's new information to process in calculating the costs of doing nothing, and the price has gone up considerably.

It is abundantly clear that the rate of handgun murders in the United States is not uniform. Very large murder rates can be observed in small, exceedingly violent populations of every race in this country, and these rates seem to be more related to issues of income, education and living conditions. Certainly guns are freely available in areas where our murder rates are appallingly high. They are also found in very large numbers in communities where handgun crime is virtually nonexistent. I might add that the greatest numbers of gun related homicides is usually located in areas that were colored BLUE on the big election map of 2000, and showed a high predisposition for urban areas where guns have been completely outlawed or incredibly difficult to get (legally). In areas with concealed carry laws and shall issue ordinances, even the most liberal antigun whack job enjoys the protection of the benefit of the doubt. Ask the people of Chappaqua NY (of all places) what happened when they (briefly) make their community "gun free."

The ratio as it was told to me was Red/1.8 per 100,000 to Blue/13 per 100,000 murders.

"Bold talk. Perhaps this fellow should familiarize himself with one word. WACO." Actually, WACO has proven the author of this piece to be right on target. Note that the BATF has NOT tried this kind of crap again, and are STILL catching flak for it.
I am somewhat of the opinion that the WACO incident was a "trail run" to see if the American will to resist HAD been reduced sufficiently so seizure could succeed. Not just yet, I think.

For it is an undeniable fact that no great nation in history has held a shadow of our measure of power, and yet exercised it with such restraint, nor does any time in the bloody history of warfare reflect a people so magnanimous in victory against enemies sworn to our murder and destruction. Outstanding, tarawa! Thank you so much for the post.

Hit the nail on the head. I will never again WASTE my vote on a Republicrat/Demican traitor to the Constitution. At times I would prefer to directly confront a Marxist Democrap as they admit their hate for our Constitution rather than take a blow from behind by a Republicrat. Just ask John Carlson, Ellen Crasswell and Linda Smith here in the state of Washington. All three of these patriots were submarined by both the national and state level Republican Parties. Their offense? Refusing to join the Republicrat/Demican appeasement movement.
