Not sure about the title, he's an outstanding and marvelous historian.
Read it, in German though, a couple of years ago. It was pure joy!
Look for a translated version, might perhaps be one if you don't prefer reading it in German.

Byzantine Commonwealth by Dimitri Obolensky is another good read.

Seems like there was a raw nerve hit here. Must really hurt to know, that the only achievement of any significance was orchestrated and performed by an excellent German officer.
