The privacy issue was discussed in terms of making certain that any information the government can gather on law-abiding citizens in the name of national security is information you would not mind falling into the hands of Hillary Clinton should she someday become president or attorney general.

This can not be stressed enough.
Personally, I wouldn't want her to know my name.

This is a great point. We can't accomplish anything if we don't know where we want to go. So, five years from now, government spending frozen for five years. (with the exception of Defense spending) Illegal immigration stopped. The Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champs. Ok, I'm dreaming.

Interesting! I did not realize that Aldrich was multi-dimensional. But it is encouraging to hear from some emerging new groupings on our general side. I have long subscibed to the idea that the greatest push for a swing to the right must come from groups outside the political party structure, for obvious reasons.

Here's hoping that we hear a lot more from these folk!

Merry Christmas!

This is a point well-taken, inasmuch as the thought of her becoming either president or AG is certainly bloodcurdling enough as it is.

It bears remembering that this is the same person who was obsessed with instituting an illegal and unconstitutional socialized health care program which would've placed into her hands the medical records of every American. And I firmly believe that was only the first step...Consider following this link and note the similarities to her M.O.

"The only thing I don’t think we have right now is a vision where we would like to be five, 10 or 20 years from now.” That is where the activity of the strategists comes in. "

Of interest, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh's show today and his replacement was asking the same question to listeners. "The GOP is in charge - what should they do?"

It does seem a bit strange to be asking this after the platform is written and the campaign completed. Why not perform as advertised?

Yes, it is a great idea for conservatives to express their vision - then perform as advertised even if they experience setbacks. Goldwater didn't win but Reagan did. Vision isn't achieved by compromise.

Aldrich — best known as a former FBI agent who went public in 1996 with a blockbuster book “Unlimited Access,” exposing the lax or almost non-existent security at the White House -

Hey! What's up with that? Why didn't TIME name Aldrich "Person of the Year" in 1996?

“We have the White House. We have the House, and we have the Senate. And that is called opportunity,” he observed.

Well alright then, lets send the rats back to the stone age. There should be no excuses now.

A serious thread, begging for self thinking, gets hi jacked by football, to much to expect anyone to think beyond tomorrow.

"He recalled a 1997 meeting in Charleston, S.C., that met to deal with the Clinton scandals. Ultimately, these citizens determination helped lead to the 1998 House vote that made Bill Clinton the only elected impeached president in the nation’s history. "

Well, how appropriate that this meeting was held last Thursday on the fourth anniversary of that intrepid act by our representatives!
I hope they retired to a bar after their work and toasted Gary and our valiant House Managers.

I hope we hear more from the meeting- not a lot of info in this article.

If you truly believe power in the wrong hands that remains un-accountable is the chief enemy of Freedom & Privacy, then the voting American Public must once and for all Bring Conservatism to the forefront! Names and programs mean a lot in America. Being a Republican does not always mean you are truly a Conservative Individual. If you label yourself a Republican it leaves much to be understood about who you are. A democrat voting individual is labeled the same way! Conservatives follow a pathway of pro-life, God Honoring expressions and migrate towards a fruitful and productive existence. The liberal pathway demands a self destructive Amoral approach to life. It defeats the very purpose we exist at all! While they would argue to the contrary the facts don't prove out as we all know. In all fairness neither do all Conservatives wash squeaky clean either! The Lifestyle differences however certainly favor the Conservatives over the liberals.

The sacred honor we all hold near and dear when it comes to the quality of life is clearly demonstrated in the Conservative movement, whereas it is clouded over on the liberal side! Again those with opposing views would deny, deny, deny and say it aint so! The pro-choice abortion croud distances itself from those who fear and reverence Jehovah God! Life is not to be trifiled with, and He has zero tolerance on this subject! This is one issue that needs to be settled, in Republican/Conservative minds! In fact here is how it should be viewed and managed! Think Conservative First and Republican Second. As you begin to narrow the facts and issues down it will be much easier to find ways to become more inclusive and less divisive. As Conservatives, it will gradually become easier to think in terms of the fact that we are a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy. True Conservatism recognizes our system as a Republic with elected representatives who vote the will of the people. I still see far too many "Republicans" calling our system a "democracy"! This failing keeps you on the same level as the liberals! It is time to elevate our thinking and make a distinct separation of our different Lifestyles. As a voting majority, this is the only way to get on the same page and begin to fix what has been so wrong for so long!

THANKS TONS for this post, Jim,

Am very glad to hear of going on the offensive.

Not sure how much time we have left to accomplish how much but it sure seems essential that we do what we can.

ALONG THOSE LINES, it seems to me that one thing media types fall for easily is CLEVER, HUMOROUS STUFF.

There's enough FREEPER CREATIVITY AND CLEVERNESS--and there are some EXCEEDINGLY OUTRAGEOUS hypocrisy cases on the left's side--beginning with BILLDO AND SKULLERY. . .

How about an effort to come up with as many posters as we could which were HARVARD LAMPOON sorts of satires really reaming good ones on all the outstanding racist and other hideous hypocrisies of the left's star players???

We SHOULD be able to have the country laughing its way to SOME enlightenment, at least. And if they are clever enough pieces--the media will automatically give them coverage . . . it seems to me.

Any better ideas?

I don't think we have the luxury of avoiding going on the offensive.

I looked at the headline and all I could think was, "Well, It's about time! When's it going to start?"

Our president somehow manages to be pleasant and agreeable -- and tremendously effective -- at the same time. He's a great role model for Republican politicians. My only problem with W is that he's not nearly conservative ENOUGH. Few Republicans are.

Why our newly strengthened Republican administration is not addressing the issues of uncontrolled illegal immigration and several million Muslims running loose in our midst I cannot imagine.

Does anyone else think, as I do, that we might do better to clean up the problems we have right here at home than to go off on a latter day Crusade against Iraq?

What does the Bush administration know that we don't that prompts them to take this action? And what AREN'T they admitting that ISLAM IS PURE POISON and dealing with it accordingly?

PS: As to the Privacy Issue, I sure don't want Her Heinous to have access to any personal data about ANY of us, but why limit your worries to HER?

Frankly I am scared to death of the new Homeland Security Bill's potential to invade our privacy and monitor virtually every move we make and every breath we take at will.

That's former Admiral Poindexter's plan for us. It's all cloaked in guise of "national security," but it really does propose to put in place a mechanism that will put ALL of us in danger of being made Slaves of the State.

Perhaps W's administration wouldn't use this information gathering monster for evil purposes, but remember that "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Thomas Jefferson warned us never to trust government and ALWAYS to be "jealous" of its enormous power to do incalculable harm.

The nature of government is to increase its own power and to tyrannize. That is what we must forever guard against.

Hellary is not the problem, POWER is. We mutt work ceaselessly to LIMIT THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT -- SEVERELY.

That's what true conservatism is all about -- it's NOT about trying to expand our OWN power so that we can force OUR agenda down everyone's throat.

...Top Democrat party operatives met a week after the GOP’s victorious Nov. 5 election and decided on a strategy of intimidation and attack, attack, attack...

It is time to once and all defund the left. Why should my tax dollars go to people who want to destoy everything that is sacred?

Begin of course with PBS. When they are not promoting treason or endlessly praising Castro, they do things like run slick Muslim propaganda, in your face during Christmas week.

Defunding the left also includes, IMHO, tort reform. The lawyer industry is not only exploitative and utterly corrupt, it is of course the largest single source of revenue to the DNC.
