Clinton campaign insider Patrick Halley revealed to NewsMax that "goon squads" were recruited to suppress protests at events for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton. Now one Clinton "goon squad" victim has come forward to tell his story.
The incident took place at New York City's Israeli Day parade at the height of Mrs. Clinton's 2000 campaign for the Senate, where, by all accounts, the then-first lady was roundly booed by the crowd as she stoically marched from block to block.
A member of the Web site FreeRepublic.com, dressed for the occasion as the devil, joined the crowd to add his voice to the protest. He recounted the episode:
"To suppress opposing views in the crowd, the Clinton campaign had people on both sides of the street walking the route with Hillary-but behind the barriers. They were carrying professionally printed pro-Clinton signs."
"Before she passed," he recalled, "they shoved me back and got in front of me, holding their signs in front of mine. However, my signs had a 3-foot handle and I raised them up."
At that point, recounts the FreeRepublic protester, "I was poked in the eye by a finger inserted to the eyehole in my mask."
In his recently released book, On the Road with Hillary, Mr. Halley details his eight-year stint as Mrs. Clinton's advance man, where one of the most important jobs was stifling protests like those staged by FreeRepublic, using physical intimidation when he deemed it necessary.
"Less genteel souls," Halley explaned, sometimes referred to his protest busters as "goon squads"-although he preferred the term "etiquette squads."
"I was proud of the fact that not one of them had ever been arrested," he boasts in the book.
Every now and then, Halley siad, even he would have to throw a punch or two.
During a trip to Moscow while Mrs. Clinton was first lady, the advance man recalled:
"A photographer blocked my way and, trying to get a picture of Hillary in her limo, pushed me. I hit him square in the face so hard I thought I'd broken my hand. His nose exploded in an eruption of blood and I was able to shove him out of the way and jump into the lead car."
When it came to his protest busters, Halley says he "never advocated physical confrontation and always insisted that the etiquette squad stay within the boundaries of the law."
But in the next breath he confessed, "Sadly, but inevitably, things sometimes got a little frisky, but my recruits knew how to handle themselves....I had heard rumors that they had been very adamant about defending themselves when set upon by protesters."
She will always be white trash, and that's being mean to the good folks in the double-wides.
Only Wisconsintes would know what a FIBer is.
SIDEBAR: I also like this reference: "Wisconsin; Illinois' state park."
No one should forget it was Mr. Clinton who pardoned terrorists in 1999.
No one should forget Mrs. Clinton kissed Mrs. Arafat.
No one should forget Mr. Clinton was not interested in apprehending Osama Bin Laden when the Sudanese offered him, prior to the deaths of 3,000 Americans.
Is anybody besides me starting to hear the theme music from Millennium playing in his/her head?
Wait. Watch. Worry.
Racebannon outfitted himself too early on. After Hillary bitched about the devil on Leno, the hand of God stepped in. A local outlet had devil masks for $5 and robes for $10. evilC was our Manhattan devil, and I'm at a loss for who else we outfitted with that and signs (Bill Clinton Married My Sister & I Sold My Soul To Bill Clinton".
If they're lurking on this thread, please speak up.
I figured if Hillary's that paranoid, let go with that thought.
Rape at least. Better put some ice on that.
That was a volunteer Albany Police Color Guard at the NY STate Democratic Party Convention. Hillary's Haters were equal opportunity Nazis as they spit on men, women, black and white. They hated them because they wore a badge and Hillary was the one who whipped them up in a hateful rage for votess.
I wouldn't blame the US Secret Service people. My recall is that Bill had a habit of telling his protective detail that he was somehow "threatened" by the people detained. WHne Bubba did that, they had to investigate, perhaps even detain.
The Clintons are like Nazi Germany in that respect, the see no legal boundary between their official powers and their polictal goals. When Hitler's friends wanted homes near his Alpine vacation home, they arrested those who refused to sell their homes to party members. Persoanlly, I'd rather go to jail before I'd be neighbors with Sid Blumentahl.
A police officer at Westchester county Airport. See Carl Limbacher at newsmax.com.
WIth the mask on, I couldn't see who did it. I seem to remember the feeling that it was someone reaching around from behind.
There were multiple TV cameras filming it, but the thug squad's tactic was to surround protesters with their signs, so who knows what was captured.
In any event, it would be difficult to connect the Clinton directly to this in court.
Going back to the other parade where reporters and a 5 foot camera woman were thrown to the ground, initial reports blamed the USSS. I felt at the time that there's NO way it was USSS, but Hillary's thugs dressed to give the impression they were USSS so they could bully people. After this book, I know I was absolutely correct.
Here is something from the first one:
One of the best parts of the book is getting to look at Mrs. Clinton as a real human being. Halley is an unabashed Hillary lover, and he is right up front about that. The thing I liked though is the book does show her as a real flesh and blood human being, and not the one dimensional figure we get through the media at times. Halley has a real talent for finding trouble and then getting out of it, usually in a daring and funny way. Some of his best stories are about how he wound up buck naked in the lobby of Tokyo's finest hotel, in a losing test of wills with an enraged yak, and in a shoving match with President Clinton while an aghast Mrs. Clinton looked on. But everyone will have a different favorite from this book.
Looks like there might be all kinds of good stuff in it. I'll let Carl and others dribble it out, I would probably get sick reading a book by an 'unabashed Hillary lover'.
;-)
That's not even over an opposing viewpoint. It was just a photographer trying to make a living doing his job. What gives Hillary's thug the right to assault him, other than that he's Hillary's thug?
Yes you did and it was a great sign. Hillary passed that at about 10 MPH and it was no more than 8 feet from the van she was riding in.
The thing I liked though is the book does show her as a real flesh and blood human being,
Impossible. She's NOT human.
He doesn't mean anything by it.
