I enjoy what Jesse Peterson has to say but a lot of what he says applies to all of us.
To: PeterPrinciple
With all due respect to Mr. Peterson, "his" people are Americans. Some just happen to have black skin.
To: PeterPrinciple
Exactly. This "loss of soul" is happening to us all, and is why people turn to socialism. It will be the downfall of this country.
To: PeterPrinciple
I do agree with this guy, but it should be noted that this isn't happening to just the black community. We can all look at this and learn some serious lessons. This article does not apply to blacks only.
To: PeterPrinciple
This is a fairly accurate representation of what I have seen going on in black communities. Those members who do have the drive to succeed on their own often do very well for themselves and fulfill MLKs vision that "they are judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." However, the most you ever hear these days that MLK had to say was "I have a dream." For those in the black community who wish to recognize it, the dream is today.

It had been largely to the purpose of helping blacks wake up and see the error of their ways that I committed myself to some 13 years ago.

Reverand, with respect for your purpose and intent, this message is true but is the last hing your people want to hear.

What? James Brown is still alive!
To: RLK
Yes. But the fact that he is saying this at all takes great courage, and all revolutions must have a first shot that breaks the silence.

This is a sad yet accurate observation by Rev. Peterson. Those who do strive to make a difference often are vilified in the black community. This makes the fight that much stronger.
One still can hope....
To: PeterPrinciple
Just wish Rev Jesse had also tied the cause of this problem to the GREAT SOCIETY WELFARE programs
But also as posted here socialism is also eating away at WHITE society

... Meanwhile, young black girls do as their mothers do and adopt the same vicious, emasculatory techniques ...
Sounds kinky. And redolent of an Oedipal account. How do we get Muslim women to behave this way?
To: PeterPrinciple
White women are the ones gaining power..under affirmative action..its the white woman who has made all the gains...they are running the public school system...the institutions.
The...schools, banks ,hospital ,large businesses, and small...are dominated by white women...
In the small town I grew up in...once upon a time..with the exception of the hospital...men dominated the scene...not any more...
Family law favors the woman..divorce law favors the woman...employment law favors the woman..govt favors the woman...
In familys- it isnt just the man hopping from woman to woman destabiliizng the family...the kids have plenty of unfaithfull or sexually free mom's modeling the very same type of behavior...after all those men are bedding a woman from someone's family...
This not only raises girls who despise men but boys who end up despising and not trusting women...
It isnt just a black race issue...its our national soul being torn apart...and what is waiting in the wings to fill the void...stand in the gap and it aint Promise Keepers...in the black community its Islam..
Human beings were created with a specific purpose in mind ..hard wired to God's plan..to violate this ..is to violate one's own nature..and the consequences of a nation of such people is the politics of national destruction imo
diversity and tolerance just aint gonna cut it...

"This article does not apply to blacks only."
Truer words were never spoken, and I believe that Rev. Peterson is as aware of that fact as anyone else, but the first front in the war against families was against black families, and the enemy has prevailed to the point that the situation is critical. The fact that the enemy has now launched an all out assault upon all families and is meeting little or no resistance-does not change the fact that he must first be driven from the Black community, by whatever force and committment that is required-this is but one battle but if we don't win it-we lose the war.
To: PeterPrinciple
Mr Patterson is correct, the Media and PC crowd will go apoplectic if/when they read this. However I believe this essay applies TO ALL AMERICANS not just black America.

The hymn
Lift Every Voice and Sing, which James Weldon Johnson wrote in 1900 and which is popular in the black community contains these lines:
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee;
Peterson's article shows us what can happen when we stray off the path.

Collectively as a community, WHAT SOUL?????
To: Taft in '52
"Lift Every Voice and Sing" is the anthem for a separate, black nation. Are you sure you want to promote its message?
