You think things are tough now? Imagine el Al style searches and screening on every carrier. You would be begging for the government to save you from the terrible intrusive private security companies. Every bag gets searched, every body gets patted,etc. be careful what you wish for.
...unless, of course, the airlines find that such a course of action turns away customers. Ain't the free market great?
