Yes, I have flown, and we're going again in a month. So what? You do what is asked whether you think it's stupid or not. You keep your trap shut and you get on the plane. Big deal.

They asked me to remove my shoes. They asked to hold my arms out at 90 degree angles from my body so they could wave the wand around the contour of my body. They had my kids and their friends remove shoes, belts, etc. That's the way it is and if you act like an idiot, they are gonna eat your lunch.

As a matter of fact, we usually take early morning flights. I haven't seen more than 1 or two local LEO's in the whole place, let alone in the screening area.

I for one vow to give up flying unless absolutely necessary after being asked to remove my shoes while watching an obviously middle eastern gentleman 2 guys behind me wearing a robe walk through unmolested.

The TSA goon, a Haitian immigrant, was obviously not profiling but searching every 8th passneger or so.

I, like the guy in this story was with my pregnant wife Mary, except thankfully they left her and our seven year old son alone.

I cursed the guy a blue streak but was luckily not arrested.

I'm happy to comply with sane security measures, but what is going on in out airports is insanity.

The sad thing is that the TSA goons are going to finish the job the terrorists started.

The airlines are never going to come back to where they were before 9/11, and it is the Feds fault.

Yep, I'm guessing that most American sheeple assume their rights end that minute they enter an airport terminal...or any other gov't. facility for that sake.

Things are getting pretty scary eh?

When was the last time a guy with a gun on him hip asked you for your papers?

I am not afraid of evil guns, I own several and carry one almost always. However, it has not been in my adult lifetime that they have been allowed on planes, so it does seem like a radical idea. I for one, would be hesitant. A planeload full of people is not a typical self-defense shooting situation, and citizens are not trained to shoot in close proximity to 200 other innocents. This is not the lone bad guy coming in my bedroom. I don't know that a gun, in the hands of just anyone, is the right weapon here.

Well, knowing what we know now about 9/11, I don't think that any armed citizen would hesitate to blast a couple of holes in a would-be hijacker. I'd rather inadvertently hit an innocent along with the hijacker as opposed to having him or her take control of the plane. One dead beats 200+ dead (not to mention 3000 dead) every time.

As for training, the shooting itself is inherently similar to any situation - watch your target and your backdrop, shoot fast and accurately. Practice is probably the bigger issue here as it goes against the grain to shoot near innocents. I would think that avoiding pulling the trigger is a higher priority than in a home invasion situation, but you've got to be prepared, physically and mentally to cap him if necessary.

I don't know, maybe I'm half rambling here, but I have discussed this with plenty of shooting friends and we are all basically of the same thought - the hijacker would be history.

Gee, what rights do we have to not be asked to take off our shoes? I must've missed that one.

Passengers boarding airplanes are subject to a search. To search me, they may have to touch me. I have no right to not be touched just because I have boobs. I support good people tasked with law enforcement and airport screening, and they have responsibility to use their judgment.

Whether their judgment should have been questioned here or in any other case has nothing to do with pitching a fit in the middle of the airport. End of opinion.

Then he called the ACLU, but they said he wasn't a minority.

No joke; it's in the article.

In fact, I called the ACLU today, and told them about my paper being burned, and dogs and cats living together. But they said I wasn't a minority.

Then I called, and said I am not John Ashcroft, really I am not, and will you please represent me? But they said, no, you are not a minority.

The guy who wrote this is a liar, and not a good one.

If 3 police officers were at the ready to pounce on him, they must've been drawn to him by the ruckus he was creating.

What about the tapes that could prove everything he said?

They claimed that the tapes were destroyed after 3 days according to policy, and it turn out there was no such policy and the tapes had not been destroyed. If he had the time and money to take this to court those tapes would have showed what really happened.

How much do you want to bet that those tapes will never be released for public viewing?

"That's the way it is and if you act like an idiot, they are gonna eat your lunch."

That's IQ discrimination! And what is the IQ of people who indiscriminantly eat other people's lunches! Ever think of THAT! And why should observing idiocy trigger their appetites, anyway? That sounds pretty twisted to me.... What kind of perverts ARE these airport security guards!!!

The funny thing is that absent sky marshalls, armed pilots or reinforced doors, the terrorists could do exactly the same thing they did on 9/11 tomorrow, because the TSA is not racially profiling, as per Minettas orders.

The TSA is however, doing a great job of bankrupting airlines.

Hmmm...I guess you've never read the Bill of Rights.

OK, I'll educate you.

Amendment IV

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Ring any bells??

All Americans are being treated like potential criminals when they are searched...and as such there should be a warrant involved.

DUH!

No. I did not read the article.

When I see "Lewrockwell.com" the post loses all credibility.

You're so hard core about this security business. What is so offensive about having your shoes checked for explosives? There was a shoe-bomber, after all. I never said I enjoy this, just that if I'm going to be able to go across country to see family or take a vacation in a warm place, I have to put up with it. I've not been 'abused' and personally know of nobody who has.

Out of the millions of people who go through airport security every year, how many of these stories are there? I bet you could find a similar percentage of people who have been treated poorly by people in all professions.
