Yes, I am. I'm also asking for fact-checking, eg. NumbersUSA ratings citations.
To: Salvation
Oh, it will be Frist. It's a done deal and you can take that to the bank rfn. There will also be no fall-out at all.
To: Bonaparte
Wait till Monday! LOL!
To: Salvation
Salvation, Monday will come whether I wait for it or not. But Bill Frist is the new Senate Majority Leader and Monday's vote will be strictly pro forma. It's behind us. Be thankful. I certainly am.
To: OReilly
Agree with it all -- that's why I was careful to start my post with the word, "Ordinarily."

That is why THIS is so fast Frist is no friend to banning PB abortion. PBA should be an early (and minimal) acid test for the "new" 'pub agenda. Let's pray they get it right.
To: aristeides
No question about it, aristeides -- Byrd chairs Appropriations (till January) which is a powerful post. I guess that's why I didn't say Byrd was without power. Instead, I pointed out his seniority and prestige, both of which he will keep even in the minority. Frankly, I doubt the Republicans will go after him as I would. More's the pity.
To: Bonaparte
Did you have the same objection to Bush and Frist "shoving through" the election of these same Republican Senators a couple months ago? The voters did the deciding. There was no "shoving." The citizens did the choosing.
To: concerned about politics
Bush's campaigning and fundraising had no effect on the midterm election's outcome? Then why did he bother?
To: Bonaparte
Bush's campaigning and fundraising had no effect on the midterm election's outcome? Then why did he bother? Yes it did, but the voters chose, the American people, not Bush.
How would you like it if he chose them, too?
It's not good to give a president dictorial powers. The powers need to be seperate.
We also need a conservative in that position, not a middle of the road moderate.
To: concerned about politics
Nope. I think Bush should select all our legislators on a whim. In fact, I think he should do it only when he's good and drunk. No more voting.
To: All
I can just see how this conference call will go: "Senator Dole, how do you vote?"
"Well, Senator Dole believes----"
"Oh, shut up, Bob; he's talking to me!"

"Oh, shut up, Bob; he's talking to me!""But I'm talkin bout Shaft"
"We can dig it"

This guy is to the Left of Lott, a big spender, bipartisan, supports the ban on obesity, aids in Africa support, world hunger, etc.Imagine that, a Doctor that is in support of things that actually prolong life. I would question him if he was against all of these things. I'll bet he also thinks smoking is not good for you, or that drinking alcohol in great quantities harms.
I'm just glad he isn't a dental hygienist, those people have to be the spawn of satan.
