Nancy Pelosi just made a public statement on the resignation of Lott. Not TWO SENTENCES into the statement, she mentioned the election in Georgia where, she claims "the Republicans exploited white racist sentiment about the Confederate flag." This comes on the heels of similar statements by Bill Clinton yesterday. Batten down the hatches, folk. If you're a conservative and a Republican, you're going to be a "racist" for the next two years!

The public doesn't buy it.The midterm elections proved this to me. The American people, thanks to outlets like Fox News and FR, the internet, etc, people are seeing what the lefts means and stands for. In a post 9-11 world, the American people dont want to discuss socialized health care, or alot tax dollars to more social engineering projects. National Security, the economy, the War on Terror and Iraq are what the People of America are focused on. And the Conservatives, Republicicans, whatever you want to call them, are the best people for the job of fighting terrorism. Can you see Tom Daschle with his pink tie or Gore with his sweatstains on Sept 20 2001? Im referring, of course, to Bushs historic address to the nation after 9/11. The dems can have this minor victory, because like you, I believe the nation is buying what the Dems are selling. Just my opinion.
To: Dems_R_Losers
All the Dems have is name-calling. Aside from that they have no real policy alternative to offer the country and the public knows it. Pelosi was just trying to put the spin on bad news. The Dems were counting on Lott to stay so they could kick him around next year but right now its back to the drawing boards for them.

The appropriate response is to agree that the Republicans should and DO dismiss rascism, then start educating the American public about the Democrat's history of racism and segregation. It starts in the 1800's and continues to this day. Show some clips of Cynthia McKinney talking about J-E-W-S. Show Jessie 'HymieTown' Jackson, show the Rev. Al Sharpton. It is now time for a counter attack on the part of the Republicans.

Amen! Pelosi is simply following the Dems strategy of whine, complain, and name-calling. That's a lot easier than actually telling America what they stand for - higher taxes, bigger government and more federal programs.
To: GraniteStateConservative
Totally agree, Granite. When all is said and done, Nancy Pelosi and Rapist Clinton didn't force Lott to make those STUPID, STUPID comments at Strom Thurmonds birthday party.
This is a lesson good mothers have been teaching their children for a long time: be careful of what you say, because you can't take back the bad things you say.
As for that abortionist fake-Catholic b*tch Pelosi (and her nasty race-baiting colleagues), I hope she continues to speak up. I smell another "Wellstone Memorial Moment" moment in the making........ Heeheehee........

As I stated at the time this flap began--and this has been absolutely shown to be true already--the Democrats are now going to inject race into EVERY SINGLE ISSUE that comes before Congress. And eventually, they will be taken about as seriously on the issue of race as they're taken about tax policy, economic policy, defense, crime, et cetera, et cetera...
If they do this, they'll just defuse the damn issue themselves by overreach.

The country doesn't care one way or another. I doubt it will make any real difference in 2004. The Dems played the "Gore Was Wobbed in Florida!" card this past election and it fell flat. I can't see how Lott being gone from the scene is going to be used by Democratic candidates effectively in the next election against Republicans without their looking petty and small. The old fear playbook no longer works for them and until and unless the Dems come up with political substance they're simply going to keep losing ground.

"The Republicans AND the President should dismiss racisim once and for all...."Colin Powell is fourth in line for president. The top democrat in line is right before Powell: Senator Byrd, the ex-KKK memember. Go figure. (VP, House Speaker, Senate pro tempore, Secretary of State)

"The Republicans AND the President should dismiss racisim once and for all...."This is good ammo and it should be rubbed in her face.
I would put my sights on Robert Byrd. Drag his KKK membership into full view.
If they bring a knife to the fight... we bring a shotgun.

The GOP needs to send someone out to remind Pelosi it was Clinton who had the Confederate flag flying over the Arkansas statehouse during all his years as Governor. Not a word from the NAACP. Also need to remind Pelosi it was a Democrat Governor who first flew the flag over the Georgia statehouse.

"...Pelosi: bring it on!!!..."
Agree, big time. The Rats' trump card plan; let go their dogs of war...racism, may just have been squashed.
Every thinking American patriot who can fog a mirror knew well the Rat's "support" of Lott was a ruse.
Mustang sends...btw, me thinks Trent rcvd a hardy dose of Texas Toast.

"--the Democrats are now going to inject race into EVERY SINGLE ISSUE that comes before Congress." And this has changed how since 1975??? The Democrats have ALWAYS "..inject(ed) race into EVERY SINGLE ISSUE that comes before Congress.".

The Confederate flag was an issue in STATE elections in 2000. I only recall it being brought up once during the presidential campaign and it was in the form of a question during the debates.

Not to worry, the feel good republicans rid their party of that racist Lott. Now all is well. Now the dems have these pubs in the corner and one wonders what the Lott haters are going to say for the next two years.
It was never about Lott, the pubs were swindled and many here were suckered into supporting the dems.

Not only did Clinton fly the flag over the Arkansas Governor's trailer, he also started "Robert E. Lee Day" in Arkansas as well.
The hypocracy of these people knows no bounds.

You're right, Poohbah, the stupid DimWits will bring up race every five minutes for the next two years. It will shore up their wacked-out nasty leftist base, but it'll eventually alienate moderates in the GOP and DimWit, party and it will also alienate independents.
In a Dimwit Pelosi world, anyone who isn't for reparations, and disagrees with Julian Bond on anything is a racist.
