KARACHI, Pakistan A chemical storage warehouse exploded in this southern port city Thursday, killing four people including a fugitive wanted in connection with terrorist acts against Americans.
Police said the warehouse was a bomb-making factory.
The body of Asif Ramzi, wanted in the killing of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and the June bombing of the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, was found in the warehouse ruins, Deputy Inspector of Police Fiaz Leghari told reporters.
The powerful explosion ripped through the chemical storage warehouse in the eastern Korangi neighborhood of Karachi, a teeming and violent city of 14 million people. The identities of the three others killed was not known.

I suspect there will be a rash of these explosions of "bomb-making factories" coming soon to many neighborhoods in IRAQ~

Al-Qaeda's getting smarter.
Now they're covering their tracks.

Tee Hee. I wonder if this was the work of our intelligence/covert operations, or if this was the Pakistanis cleaning house?

I think you give AQ too much credit. They don't need to murder suicide bombers to keep them quiet.

Remember what President Bush said--something to the effect of--"in the war against terror, sometimes we'll see progress that's readily obvious; other times, it'll be more covert."
This smells like one of those less obvious times...and good for him!

I'm sure a forensic DNA analysis was done if possible; otherwise, a passport or some docs offer incontrovertible evidence. Right.

Yeah, they'd never think of anything like that to verify someone's identity. How'd you get to be so smart?

It depends.
If this guy were part of the al-Qanoon outfit that tried to blow up our consulate back in June, this creep could know about future attacks. As such, they might have a good reason to knock him off and only recently had the opportunity to do so.
