Why are you commenting on this thread if you have no idea how Chavez was elected to power? The elections were declared free and fair by both domestic and international monitors.

I comment because it thrills me to be educated by the likes of you. Those international monitors weren't a group led by Jimmy Carter, were they?

Chavez is behaving contrary to the constitution he sponsored. He is refusing to obey his own laws.

The country went on strike because the opposition gathered enough signatures for a referendum on Chavez but he refused to allow it.

“Even if 90% vote against me, I won't resign,” he said.
