I was living in Castaic at the time, across the I-5 from Peter Pitchess Wayside Honor Rancho. The Marines (I think) were brought in on big transport helicopters at dusk and were deployed into the L.A. from there. Those guys hit the prison grounds fully armed and ready to go. Very impressive.
Within 24 hours, order had been restored.
