Larry Sabato (professor University of Virginia) reported that if Lott were to resign from the senate before the end of December, the Demo replacement (assumed per Demo Governor of Mississippi) would only have a 90 day term before a special election would take place. If the resignation comes after January 1, Lott's replacement would have a 1 year term.
Why wasn't this circulated in the press before? Why didn't the GOP senate press a meeting ASAP instead of waiting 20 days to January 6th?
Lott has become a one-man wrecking crew as far as the GOP Congress is concerned. What a pathetic loser -- almost as bad as Algore. As a matter of fact, Gore is helping Lott by taking away some of the spotlight.

I don't get it.You are calling Lott a bum and by forcing him to take your hemlock now, and he ought to be thankful? The people pushing this have got themselves to blame right now, NOT LOTT.They couldn't do this with discretion and in a way that didn't rub his nose in it, could they, and Lott is to blame for their miscalculations?
The amatuers are screaming at Lott for not allowing him to overlook their own screwups. If you want him gone, do it right, not like a bunch of Clouseau's.
