I couldn't watch this farce but I would like to address affirmative action and it's original meaning. By that I mean I have no problem with the government reaching out to the needy by advertising for jobs in the local newspapers or whatnot.

As soon as you move into quotas and preferences based on height, weight, skin color or accent, you lose me.

Just read a story about why some blacks in Mississippi vote for Lott even though they don't care for his politics. Two words--- gravy train. Lott brings so much pork back to Mississippi, it ain't funny. Lott is promising to trickle the pork to other minority communities outside of his state in an effort to save his ass.

It's not so much that I oppose this,... I am in favor of Jack Kemp style enterprise zones for example, but Lott doesn't believe in this. He is actively trying to bribe blacks into letting him stay, still believing he is a racist, but allowing him to shower them with goodies to overlook their thoughts about him. Truly disgusting.

He feels he has been slandered. NO US Senator is going to resign for something he feels he is not.

If the Senate wants him out, they should vote him out.

I can't believe what is happening right now or that anyone could be supporting Lott. Every time he waxes remorseful, he either directly or indirectly inplicates the entire GOP and conservative movement in his "racism". As if "we" all publicly pined for Jim Crow.

It is clear as day that Lott will do anything to keep his power hold. How any GOP supporter can see keeping him as ML as a good thing is beyond belief. He has already caused lasting damage. For God sakes, W, somebody, cut this guy off at the knees before it gets any worse, if that's possible.
